In article <34fc5745...@news.u-net.com>, us...@wincot.u-net.com says...
The song is "Wonderful World", recorded originally by Sam Cooke in 1960,
later by Ricky Nelson (?), Herman's Hermits, James Taylor, and possibly
others.

#12 for Sam Cooke in 1960, #4 for Herman's Hermits in 1965, #17 for Art
Garfunkel with James Taylor and Paul Simon in 1978.

WONDERFUL WORLD
(Barbara Campbell)
- as recorded by Sam Cooke

Don't know much about history
Don't know much biology
Don't know much about science books
Don't know much about the french I took
But I do know that I love you
And I know that if you loved me too
What a wonderful world this would be

Don't know much about geography
Don't know much trigonometry
Don't know much about algebra
Don't know what a slide rule is for
But I know that one and one is two
And if this one could be with you
What a wonderful world this would be

Now I don't claim to be an A student
But I'm tryin' to be
Oh maybe by being an A student, baby
I can win your love for me

Don't know much about history
Don't know much biology
Don't know much about science books
Don't know much about the french I took
But I do know that I love you
And I know that if you loved me too
What a wonderful world this would be

------ lead guitar ------

But I do know that I love you
And I know that if you loved me too
What a wonderful world this would be

Additional lyrics added by Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel, and James Taylor
in 1978:

Don't know much about the Middle Ages
Looked at the pictures and I turned the pages
Don't know nothing 'bout no rise and fall
Don't know nothing 'bout nothin' at all
Girl it's you that I've been thinkin' of
And if I could only win your love
What a wonderful world this would be

Don't know when, but the band name should give you an idea of the era.

Hope this helps.

The song is called (What a) Wonderful World and was written and recorded by Sam Cook. It has been used in the movie "Witness" with
Harrison Ford. Art Garfunkel, Paul Simon & James Taylor sang it wonderfully (Art Garfunkel solo album : Watermark). This version
is my favorite. Wonderful song! Not to be mistaken with Louis Armstrong's "Wonderful World"...

All the best

It's called Wonderful World
Sam Cooke recorded it way back, early 60's
Herman's Hermits recorded it in the later 60's

Art Garfunkel recorded it, as well. I'm not sure what year, but it's on
the same album as "Bright Eyes," from the movie "Watership Down."
