Jesus Loves Me
Verse 1:
Jesus loves me, this I know
For the Bible tell me so;
Little ones to Him belong;
They are weak, but He is strong.
Chorus:
Yes, Jesus love me,
Yes, Jesus loves me,
Yes, Jesus loves me,
The Bible tells me so.
Verse 2:
Jesus loves me when I'm good,
When I do the things I should;
Jesus loves me when I'm bad,
'Though it makes Him very sad.
(Chorus)
Verse 3:
Jesus loves me, He Who died
Heaven's gates to open wide.
He will wash away my sin,
Let His little child come in.
(Chorus)
Verse 4:
Jesus loves me; He will stay
Close beside me all the way;
"Thou hast bled and died for me;
I will henceforth live for Thee!"
(Chorus)
Jesus Loves the Little Children
Jesus loves the little children,
All the children of the world;
Red and yellow, black and white (or "Red, brown, yellow, black and
white...")
They are precious in His sight;
Jesus loves the little children of the world.
Jesus died for all the children...etc.
Jesus rose for all the children...etc.
Jesus lives for all the children...etc.

I think they may be the SAME song. Even though I've grown up to be an
atheist, part of my Protestant upbringing stays with me--especially the
musical part. I recall one verse and a chorus but there may have been
more:
Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Red or yellow, black or white
They are precious in his sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world
Yes, Jesus loves me
Yes, Jesus loves me
Yes, Jesus loves me
they are precious in his "site"
and are now looking up http://www.jesus.com
those crazy kids!

I concur...and here are three more verses that seem to have gone by the
wayside in most modern hymnals, but were part of the song as originally
written by Anna B. Warner:
Jesus loves me, loves me still,
Though I'm very weak and ill;
From his shining home on high,
Comes to watch me where I lie.
Jesus loves the children dear,
Children far away or near:
They are safe when in his care,
Everyday and everywhere.
Jesus, take this heart of mine;
Make it pure and wholly thine.
Thou hast bled and died for me;
I will henceforth live for thee.
You'll notice that those last two lines of this final verse are the same as
the last two lines of verse 4 as posted previously. They do belong here, as
the only verse directed specifically to Jesus. I have heard the previous
post's verse four sung with two different lines at the end, but I am not
able, with everything packed, to find those two lines; I'll see what I can
do if and when I actually get unpacked.
By the way, "Jesus Loves Me" and "Jesus Loves the Little Children" are two
completely different songs by different authors.
