I have this Sixties(?) song on tape from which I quoted the following
lyrics. I gave the song the title 'Oh Laurie' but I'm not even sure whether
it's the correct one. A more recent 'Oh Laurie' it is certainly not. Some
searching with HotBot and Copernic didn't give any clue. Do the lyrics ring
a (!bicycle) bell somewhere?
Who's the singer and the group?

'Oh Laurie'

I'd like to stay in love with you all summer
And after fall I 'll keep
You warm thru the winter
Ooh Hoo cause I noticed one thing
It saved no summer plain

I'd like to ride my bicycle
With you on a handlebar
You'll have to run away
(Chorus) Doo-ah!
And I chase you thru the meadows
(Chorus) Doo-ah! Doo-ah!

Without You and I
It's "Never Say Goodbye".

I seem to recollect this was recorded by Alessi during the 70s/80s
Kenny Everett used to play it quite frequently on Capital Radio.
I think Alessi were two brothers but I may be wrong

That's right! - both on the group, and their proper name - though 'Brothers'
still seems to have wide acceptance. 'Oh Lori' made 8th at the British
charts in '77. But even with the new info I haven't been able to find the
complete lyrics at the various lyrics-sites. Maybe someone could tell me.

A five-minute search through Altavista lead me to this...

OH! LORI
--------

I'd like to stay in love with you all summer
And after fall

I'll keep you warm through the winter
Ohh 'cos I've noticed one thing
This ain't no summer fling

I like to ride my bicycle with you
On the handlebar
You laugh and run away
And I'd chase you through the meadow
Without you I'd die
So never say goodbye

CHORUS

Oh! Lori
You bring the spring, the summer, fall,
Ooh and winter out of season
Oh! Lori
You make me feel like I've been born again,
Born again

You danced for hours in your bare feet
That mellow afternoon
When we made love to each other
Ooh and loving you
Is all I wanna do

CHORUS

Oh! Lori
You bring the spring, the summer, fall,
Ooh and winter out of season
Oh! Lori
You make me feel like I've been born again,
Born again

INSTRUMENTAL

CHORUS

Oh! Lori
You bring the spring, the summer, fall,
Ooh and winter out of season
Oh! Lori
You make me feel like I've been born again,
Born again

Repeat and fade

It was a great song, still played on BBC R2 occasionally.

Steve in Essex.

Thanks again! I indeed had skipped AltaVista in my search.
