I am looking for any or all lyrics to songs from the Broadway musical
"Annie"; our local elementary school is planning a field trip to a
production and thought the kids might appreciate more if they knew the
songs beforehand--Thanks!

You might try visit this page:
http://www.geocities.com/Paris/1340/
vsit the art links (I think), it has some links to musical archives
and homepages where complete librettos to various operas and musicals
can be found. Good Luck!

Oh geez, I went and saw that show twice when it first toured. Great show!

Let's see, some bits and pieces off the top of my head here:

"It's a Hard Knock Life" (sung by the orphans)

It's a hard knock life for us
It's a hard knock life for us
No one cares for you a smidge
When you're in an "orphanidge"

Got no folks to speak of, so
It's a hard knock row we hoe
Cotton blankets 'stead of wool
Empty bellies 'stead of full

Rotten smelly life!
Empty belly life!
Full of sorrow life!
No tomorrow life!

"Maybe" (sung by Annie in the orphanage)

Maybe far away
Or maybe real nearby
He's sitting having his coffee
She's busy straightening his tie

Maybe in a house
All hidden by a hill
She's sitting playing piano
Be's sitting paying a bill

Bet you they're young
Bet you they're smart
Bet they collect things
Like ashtrays and art
Bet you they're good
Why shouldn't they be?
Their one mistake
Was giving up me

So maybe now it's time
And maybe when I wake
They'll be there calling me "Baby"
Maybe

"Tomorrow"

The sun'll come out, tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow
There'll be sun.
The skies'll turn blue, tomorrow
So you gotta hang on til tomorrow
Come what may

When I'm stuck with a day that's grey and lonely
I just stick out my chin and grin and say:

The sun'll come out, tomorrow
So you gotta hang on 'til tomorrow, come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I love ya! Tomorrow!
You're only a day away.

"You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile" (sung on a radio program)

Hey, hobo man! Hey, dapper Dan!
You've both got your style
But brother you're never fully dressed
Without a smile!

Your clothes may be Beau Brummel-y
They stand out for miles
But brother you're never fully dressed
Without a smile!

Who cares what they're wearing
On Main Street or Saville Row?
It's what you wear from ear to ear
And not from head to toe.

So, senator, so, janitor,
So long for a while
Remember you're never fully dressed
Though you may wear the best
You're never fully dressed
Without a smile!

"No One But You" (sung to Annie by Daddy Warbucks)

The world was my oyster
But where was the pearl?
Who dreamed I would find it
In one little girl
Yes something was missing
But dreams can come true
That someone is no one but you

Hope this helps. :-)
