I've seen the movie "Father of the Bride" (actually two different
versions) but I don't remember for sure which song you mentioned.
However, let me guess that you are referring to "Lady in Red" by Chris
Deburgh (I believe) around 1987. The chorus goes something like this:

The lady in red is dancing with me, cheek to cheek
Nobody here, it's just you and me, it's where i wanna be
I hardly know the beauty by my side
[I'll] Never forget the way you look tonight.

I can't remember the verses off hand, as I haven't heard the song in
years.
