Does anyone have these lyrics..the English version. I'm also interested in
the German lyrics for this song (both 7inch and 12inch singles)

The way I remember, there was just a sample from a news or documentary
programme at the start: "in world war two the average age of the
combat soldier was 25 [I think. Could be 26 or some other number] In
Vietnam it was nineteen". The rest of the song was instrumental with
"na-na-na-na-nineteen" as the only lyrics.
Or am I wrong?

Well, not completely. There were other news clips (sampled) and
statements like "none of them received a hero's welcome" (mixed and
sampled, of course).

I guess it didn't have lyrics per se; more like samples of news
clips. Done rather well in my opinion.

And that's where the German version would come in useful.. I can more or
less write down the English lyrics, but I don't know how to write German..
but I can read / speak it (and for this song I'd love to speak it ~ show
off about it etc.)

If you don't believe me that there was a German version then I'll just have
to post it to the alt.binaries.wav (I think that's the group) so you can
hear for yourselves.
