Pink Cadillac - Bruce Springsteen (this was the b-side of a 45; I don't
know if it was ever issued on a cassette or cd)
Cadillac Ranch - Bruce Springsteen (LP "The River")
*Mary Lou - Steve Miller Band (LP "The Joker")
*Mary Lou - Bob Seger (LP "Night Moves")
*These two are the same song by two different artists - they contain the
line "...she took the keys to my Cadillac car, jumped in my Caddy and she
drove off far..."
Maybelline - Chuck Berry (Chuck's V8 ford races a Cadillac Coupe de Ville)
(this should be on any Chuck Berry compilation)
Hot Rod Lincoln - Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen (Cody's
Lincoln races a Cadillac) (LP "Lost in the Ozone")
Thes are just a few I can think of off the top of my head. If I think of
others I'll post to the group.
Regards,
Tommy
"...Well, I may not have the answer, but I believe I've got a plan..."
Jackson Browne
Marc Cohn's (is that name right? the guy who did Walking in Memphis)
"Silver Thunderbird," in a way: "You can keep your Eldorado, and your
foreign car's absurd. Me, I wanna go down in a Silver Thunderbird."
The BB King standard (i know it by Duane Allman) "How Blue Can You Get":
"I bought you a new Ford, You said 'I want a Cadillac.' Bought you a
ten-dollar dinner, You said 'Thanks for the snack.' "

How about "One Part at a Time" by Johnny Cash? He sings
about stealing parts from Cadillac factory and making
his own. I may remember the title a little incorrectly.
And another one: who sang "My baby drove up in a brand
new Cadillac"? I believe the title was "Cadillac".
Then totally off-topic: why don't you buy him a Sokal
comic album, "White Cadillac".

There's this refrain from one song that's kept me puzzling:
"Come on in my pink cadillac, pink cadillac.
Let's drive my pink cadillac, pink cadillac."
I know it couldn't be Aretha Franklin's song that I aformentioned, but
some other song that I heard some time ago. Any clues who sang that
tune?

"Pink Cadillac" was also recorded by Aretha Franklin, that's the
version most known to me
Also "Be Thankful For What You Got" by William DeVaughn -
"Though you may not drive
A great big Cadillac
Gangsta whitewalls
TV antenna in the back
You may not have a car at all
But remember, brothers and sisters
You can still stand tall
Just be thankful for what you got"
It's an old 70s soul/funk song, I don't know how well-known it is.
That's all I can think of for now...I'll post more later if they come
to me :)

Okay, I thought of another one - "Highway Chile" by Jimi Hendrix
"His guitar slung across his back
His dusty boots, it's his Cadillac

Hey, that's not "Hot Rod Lincoln", that's "Maybelline" (sp.?)
by Mr. Berry....
Nooo, that's "Hot Rod Lincoln".
No, it's NOT "Hot Rod Licoln". The line from H.R.L. goes
All of a sudden in the wink of an eye,
A Cadillac sedan passed us by.
Now, the lines from "Maybelline":
As I was motorvatin over the hill
I saw Maybelline in a Coupe de Ville
Cadillac doin' 'bout 95
We was bumper to bumper and side by side
Maybelline, why can't you be true ?
