Ummm, I don't know what the song is called, but it goes something like
that..... ("I can feel it coming in the air of the night.... oh lord...
and I've been waiting for the summer for all of my life.... oh lord.... oh
lord)..... for some reason i think of Genesis and Miami Vice... :)
Anyone have the lyrics (and title) of this song?

You're gonna feel like you wanna kill yaself for not recognizing it.

It's Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight"; The reason you were thinking of
Miami Vice was because the song was in the soundtrack!! The song
originally appeared in Face Value, Phil Collins' first solo album.

Here it is off one of the alias for the UWP sites.

Author: Phil Collins
Album title: Face Value
In the Air Tonight
-- --- --- -------

CHORUS
I can feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord
I've been waiting for this moment, all my life, Oh Lord
Can you feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord, Oh Lord

Well, it you told me you were drowning
I would not lend a hand
I've seen your face before my friend
But I don't know if you know who I am
Well, I was there and I saw what you did
I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off the grin, I know where you've been
It's all been a pack of lies

CHORUS

And I can feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord
I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, Oh Lord
I can feel it in the air tonight, Oh Lord, Oh Lord
And I've been waiting for this moment all my life, Oh Lord, Oh Lord

Well I remember, I remember don't worry
How could I ever forget, it's the first time, the last time we ever met
But I know the reason why you keep your silence up, no you don't fool me
The hurt doesn't show; but the pain still grows
It's no stranger to you or me

(REPEAT CHORUS AND FADE...)

I don't know the name of the song, but it is by either Genesis or by Phil
Collins after he left them. I think it was while he was with Genesis,
though. Also, you misheard the lyrics. It should be:

I can feel it coming in the air tonight, hold on
And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, hold on

I don't know all of the lyrics, but thought this bit might help you.

The song was featured on one or more episodes of Miami Vice, as was Phil
Collins.

It's called "In The Air Tonight", and it's Phil Collins.

I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord;
And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord, oh Lord

Well if you told me you were drownin'

I would not lend a hand

I've seen your face before, my friend

But I don't know if you know who I am

I know who you are and I know where you've been

I saw it with my own two eyes

So you can wipe off that grin

I know where you've been
It's all been a pack of lies

I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord;
And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord, oh Lord

Well I remember

I remember don't worry

How could I ever forget?
It was the first time - the last time - we ever met
But I know the reason why you keep the silence up
No you don't fool me
Though the hurt doesn't show
The pain still grows

It's no stranger to you or me

(Signature drum fill)

I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord;
And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord, oh Lord
(FADE)

Hope I helped,
Dave

PS To the group: I did this off the top of my head, and if I'm as wrong
as I think I possibly am, could one of you send me a smack on the head via
eMail? Thanks!!

Just to set the record straight....Phil Collins is still with
Genesis. He merely cut a few solo albums on the side.

Are you sure that it is "Oh lord" and not "hold on"??? I think that

lyrics... You should check it out quick fast and in a hurry!!!

Peace Out Beat-nut...
