Another one of those 'not even out there in nowhere'
ones, I'm afraid. This one is by Blue Zoo. From 1983.
Someone requested this on here back in 1999, with no
success, hehe. PLEASE have these lyrics, & post them,
someone!

Hi Nevermort,

Three years is a long time to wait for something....Boy are you patient.

Well, here's what I put together for you....Not 100% sure but I think
it's pretty close....Enjoy.

Ron

Somewhere In The World There's A Cowboy Smiling
Performed by Blue Zoo (1983)

Somewhere in the world there's a cowboy smiling
I'm sitting here trying to stop my crying

[Music Intro]

Low down, taken for another ride
Fast move, didn't leave a trace at all
But follow, money's got a language of it's own
Whoa...

All his hopes have turned to lies
Down to where the spirit dies
Running scared like hunted prey
They came to take his soul away

(Chorus)
Somewhere in the world there's a cowboy smiling
I can feel I gotta keep on trying
Somewhere in the world there's a cowboy smiling
Wha..ooo

Buildings, growing where there once was grass
Buildings, no reminder of the past
A memory, money's got a language of it's own
Whoa...

Working is just compromise
Between the city and the open skies
Free to move but is held by chains
Those days are gone but his pride remains

(Chorus)
Somewhere in the world there's a cowboy smiling
When we're talking, while love lies dying
Somewhere in the world there's a cowboy smiling
Wha..ooo

[Music Interlude]

Crashing up, breaking out
Bikes moving over the skies
Working up, sweating out
Move up to higher clouds

Green grass, feels good,
Under my feet
Mountain high, hard to climb
No man reached the sky

(Chorus)
Somewhere in the world there's a cowboy smiling
I can feel I gotta keep on trying
Somewhere in the world there's a cowboy smiling
Wha..ooo

[Fadeout]......
Somewhere in the world there's a cowboy smiling
I can feel I gotta keep on trying
Somewhere in the world there's a cowboy smiling
Wha..ooo

Frustration, my sad addiction :-)

I thank you greatly for your time and effort. "Pretty close"
makes the runners-up, "haunting snippet reverberating in the
dusty halls of memory" and "nothing at all" seem like rank
amateurs.

Hi Nevermort,
Sorry you've had to wait so long for these lyrics to Cowboy. Ron did a sterling job, just a couple of lines which I've amended. Cheers Andy O-Blue Zoo
