Lyrics:
Hey!
Everybody get up!
Flashback, who's that
Dancin' to the latest
Suave, Debon(aire), the greatest
Oh, he sure is moving me
That's what I said
Though you didn't know yet
All of this was Kismet
Soon to be made history
So don't you have a doubt
I'm going to spell it out
I'll fit you to the "t" that is
I got the best, the most,
Baby, from coast to coast
And I don't want to boast
But I love ya square biz
I'm talkin' square biz to ya baby
Square, square biz
I'm talkin' love, that is
Square, square biz
I'm talkin' square biz to ya baby
Square, square biz
I'm talkin' love, that is
That is, that is, square biz
So shy, oh my
Have to change that real quick
Have to use some new tricks
You know, like my femme fatale
Face to me,
You dancin' on a cloud
Gonna sing it loud
Cause my life is on the wow
So don't you have a doubt
I'm going to spell it out
I'll fit you to the "t" that is
I got the best, the most,
Baby, from coast to coast
And I don't want to boast
But I love ya square biz
I'm talkin' square biz to ya baby
Square, square biz
I'm talkin' love, that is
Square, square biz
I'm talkin' square biz to ya baby
Square, square biz
I'm talkin' love, that is
That is, that is, square biz
Oooh
Hey baby, um, what's your name, huh?
Maybe they call me Slick, Rick, baby
Yeah well, don't get too slick, now
I'm talkin' square biz
Talk to me
I'm talkin' square biz to you
I'm talkin' square biz
Talk to me
I'm talkin' square biz to you
Baby, what's happening
Entrez-vous Lady T
I've heard a boatload of other lady's raps
But they ain't got nothin' on me
I'm less than five foot one
A hundred pounds of fun
I like sophisticated funk
I live on Dom Perignon, cavier, filet mignon
And you can best believe that's bunk
Here's what I'm talkin' baby
Square biz
Square biz
I've been ___ ___ ___ ___ little bit,
Some they call me vanilla child
But you know that don't mean my world to me
Because baby names can't cramp my style
I love chicken, plus collard greens
A little hot ____ warm turned cornbread
I love you too, cat-daddy, but don't you let that go to your head
That's what I'm talkin baby
Square biz
Square biz
You know I like the rituals and rhyme
Sarah Vaughan, Johann Sebastian Bach
Shakespeare, Maya Angelou
and Mikki Giovanni just to name a few
Well, war and peace for Lady T
I gots to keep my irons in the fire you see
I got the goods, the scam, the low, the deal
What's the deal, say what!
Flashback, who's that
(flashback)
Flashback, who's that
(flashback)
Flashback, who's that
(flashback)
Flashback, who's that
(flashback)

all the comments included at the end are his
I will say that I think it's "Flashback", not Flash Cat. Also, i just
listened to it on "Hitsville USA Volume 2" CD and it's about half the song
that JohnnyO posted, so...well.. here's the whole dang thing...

Teena Marie
It Must Be Magic
Everybody get up!
Flash Cat!
Who's that,
Dancin' to the latest?
Suave, debon', the greatest,
Oh, he sure is movin' me!
That's what I said,
Though you didn't know yet.
All of it was Kismet,
Soon to be made history.
So don't you have no doubt,
I'm gonna spell it out:
I'll hip you to the "Tee," that is.
I got the best, the most,
Get it from coast to coast,
And I don't want to boast,
But I love you.
Square biz!
I'm talkin' square biz to you, baby,
Square, square biz.
I'm talkin' love that is
Square, square biz.
I'm talkin' square biz to you, baby,
Square, square biz.
I'm talkin' love that is, that is, that is
Square biz.
So shy,
Oh, my!
Have to change that real quick!
Have to use a few tricks,
You know,
Like my "femme fatale."
Phase two:
Me, you,
Dancin' on the prowl.
Gonna sing it loud,
'Cause my love is on the wow!
So don't you have no doubt,
I'm gonna spell it out:
I'll hip you to the "Tee," that is.
I got the best, the most,
Get it from coast to coast,
And I don't want to boast,
But I love you.
Square biz!
I'm talkin' square biz to you, baby,
Square, square biz.
I'm talkin' love that is
Square, square biz.
I'm talkin' square biz to you, baby,
Square, square biz.
I'm talkin' love that is, that is, that is
Square biz.
Square biz, square biz, square biz.
I'm talkin' love.
Square biz, square biz, square biz, square biz.
I'm talkin' love.
Phase three:
Ooh, we
On a love oasis,
Joy upon our faces
Sent from up above.
Bombs burst,
Fireworks,
Big production thing.
I'm talkin' horns and strings:
Orchestration in my love.
So don't you have no doubt,
I'm gonna spell it out:
I'll hip you to the truth, that is.
I got the best, the most,
Get it from coast to coast,
And I don't want to boast,
But I love you.
Square biz!
I'm talkin' square biz to you, baby,
Square, square biz.
I'm talkin' love that is
Square, square biz.
I'm talkin' square biz to you, baby,
Square, square biz.
I'm talkin' love that is, that is, that is, that is
Square biz.

I'm gonna talk about it,
I'm gonna talk about my love.
I'm gonna hip you to the "Tee"...

Johnny's comments:
Now I heartily, readily, and freely admit that transcribing rap and post-'79
R&B is NOT my forte (it feels SO weird to think of myself as being 20 years
out of date)...but I wish I knew what happened to my copy of the "It Must Be
Magic" LP, which actually had a lyric sheet ...nonetheless, I shall do what I
can for the requester, whoever that may have been...I KNOW there are a lot of
errors here, since it's been at LEAST 17 years since I last saw this lyric, and
there are some parts that are just beyond me at present...I'm not even sure
about the "Flash Cat" line anymore..."Flash Bat"? "Flashback"? "Flash
Phat"? (no, it was before that)...someone with the LP lyric sheet, please help.
For those who wonder about the "Warm and Peaceful" and "Irons in the Fire" in
parentheses, they were two of her previous album titles...
