My wife and I have been trying to figure out the unintelligable second
line to the Grass Roots' "Midnight Confessions".

The sound of your footsteps
Telling me that you're near
You're "__________________"
Brings me a need; a need no one can hear except
In my Midnight Confessions....etc....

If you can help us out; it would me mucho appreciated.....

It's been a long time since I've heard the song, but I think the line is

"There's something about you girl,
That brings out a need in me...?"

something like that :>

I haven't heard it in ages, but I think it was:

"The sound of your footsteps
Telling me that you're near

Your soft, gentle motion, babe,
Brings out a need in me that no one can hear, except..."

And the other verse...

"Staggering through the daytime
Your image on my mind
You seem so close beside me, babe
Sometimes the feelings are so hard to hide, except..."

Is that what you've gotten?
(Lord only knows where that 45 is hiding...<g>)

Hope this helps,

CAS
