This might be somewhat related trivia, but did anyone else recognize
these guys as the cheesy lounge act in "Repo Man"? They do a sort
of funky Holiday Inn dance lounge version of this song in one scene.

Yeah I remmy Repo Man the movie. I do remmy that it was Emilio Estevez
who was in that crazy punk movie. Probably the only movie where the
credits roll DOWN instead of up in the end. Weirdest ending I've ever
seen, and never been matched, not even by Twin Peaks. Twin Peaks had all
the characters, the plot, etc, but Repo Man had the ending hands down!
Oh well. Would like to rent that movie, boy! Now if only Blockbuster
would be open 24 hours....
