I know "There's a Hole in the Bucket"
Henry:
There's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza,
there's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, a hole.
Liza:
Then fix it, dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry.
Then fix it, dear Henry, dear Henry, fix it.
H: With what shall I fix it, dear Liza, dear Liza?
With what shall I fix it, dear Liza, with what?
L: With straw, dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry.
With straw, dear Henry, dear Henry, with straw.
H: But the straw is too long, dear Liza, etc.
L: Then shorten it, dear Henry, etc.
H: With what shall I shorten it, dear Liza...
L: With an axe, dear Henry...
H: But the axe is too dull, dear Liza...
L: Then sharpen it, dear Henry...
H: With what shall I sharpen it, dear Liza...
L: With a stone, dear Henry...
H: But the stone is too dry, dear Liza...
L: Then wet it, dear Henry...
H: With what shall I wet it, dear Liza...
L: With water, dear Henry...
H: In what shall I fetch it, dear Liza...
L: In a bucket, dear Henry...
H: There's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza...

from my memory its a list song that circles back to the joke of a hole in the
bucket as a dialog between liza and her husband named ??? (albert sounds as
good as anything), you could probably add your own verses rather easily, cook
me some dinner, dear liza; with what shall i cook it, dear albert...go fetch me
some water, dear albert; where shall i fetch it; on top of the mountain; with
what shall i fetch it; use the bucket to fetch it; THERES A HOLE IN THE BUCKET;
so mend it; with what shall i mend it,....ad nauseum, in the form below. Often
in a mixed group of children the girls would sing a stanza then the boys.
Theres a Hole in the bucket
dear liza dear liza
theres a hole in the bucket, dear liza, a hole
you might try some of the links below, I have a feeling the middle 2 links
would have the best chance of having this traditional childrens folks song.

I knew an old lady who swallowed a fly, perhaps she'll die.
I knew an old lady who swallowed a spider,
Rhat wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside her
She swallowed the spider to catch the fly, perhaps she'll die.
I knew an old lady who swallowed a cat.
Just think of that! She swallowed a cat.
She swallowed the cat to catch the spider
That wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside her
She swallowed the spider to catch the fly,
I don't know why she swallowed the fly, perhaps she'll die.
I knew an old lady who swallowed a dog.
Oh what a hog! To swallow a dog.
She swallowed the dog to catch the cat,
She swallowed the cat to catch the spider
That wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside her
She swallowed the spider to catch the fly.
I don't know why she swallowed the fly, perhaps she'll die.
I knew an old lady who swallowed a goat.
She just opened her throat and swallowed a goat
She swallowed the goat to catch the dog.
She swallowed the dog to catch the cat
She swallowed the cat to catch the spider
That wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside her
She swallowed the spider to catch the fly.
I don't know why she swallowed the fly, perhaps she'll die.
I knew and old lady who swallowed a horse
[Spoken:] She died, of course.

If you want to get really silly, add some more that you (or the kids)
think up, such as...
a cow... I don't know how she swallowed a cow
a rhinoceros... I know it's prepoceros [spelling inspired by Ogden Nash
<g>], but she swallowed a rhinoceros
an alligator... she said "see ya later" and swallowed an alligator
a crocodile... she gave me a smile and swallowed a crocodile
etc. etc.! Have fun!
