Hey all, I am planning on taking a trip out to Vegas in a week or so, and
am wanting to make some mix tapes for my trip. I want to include songs
that have "Vegas, or dessert, or gambling" etc, lyrics in them. If you can
think of any that would relate, please email me and let me know.

Thank you

hmmmm Vegas, dessert (I assume you mean desert) and gambling. The songs
that immediately come to mind are:

Hotel California: On a dark desert highway . . . [though in Calif., not
NV]
Smoke on the Water: They burned down the gambling house . . .
House of the Rising Sun: [all about gambling, albeit in New Orleans]

If I think of some more, I'll be sure to send them.

How about this one:

~~~~~~~~
VEGAS - Sleeper
He lives on his own, the TV's on loan
He watches old movies
He lives in a flat, the lino's all cracked
But he's got plans, bingo
He sings like Sinatra with more feel
Plays with his pocket roulette wheel all day
And no-one stopped him
(CHORUS:)
He got away, waited all this time
With all this scratching around
In one place, made it just in time
All this talk about luck
He's just so loaded
He's just so loaded down
He gets on a plane, he changes his name
He flys off to Las Vegas
He saved up for years, he cashed in his fears
He always had plans, bingo
He packs up his white lounge lizard suit
Plenty of hairspray and a big cigar
And no-one stopped him
(CHORUS)
He got away, took him 40 years
To plan his route of escape
From this place, made it just in time with
All this talk about luck
He's just so loaded
He's just so loaded down
The first time he flew
Watched the Vegas skyline
Gently melt into view
All this booze, swore he just saw Elvis
Playing poker at Dunes
He's just so loaded
He's just so loaded
He's just so loaded now
Oooooohhh.... A favorite song of mine is "Casino Queen" by Wilco.
Quote: The room fills with smoke and the dealer keeps on jokin' as he
takes my last token. Casino Queen - my lord you're mean. I've been
gambling like a fiend on your tables so green.
