Im performing a classic rock and oldies set that DEPENDED on the lyrics Server
that was shut down. Without it......I was screwed. My set changes constantley
and I depend on pulling lyrics FAST.

I asked for some lyrics HERE in desperation and MAN.......you guy's have it
together here. EVERY request was fullfilled within hours.

See......your time IS well spent here helping others.

Special note~ I met a woman during a blue moon and wanted to play and sing
"Blue Moon" to her at my next show......so......to those that sent over lyrics
to it.....someone's going to feel very special as a result of your sending over
lyrics.

Many thanks!*!*!

Well fella, it is YOU and YOUR abuse of the server that has made the Fox
agency so damned mad. IF, you had bought your music like most legit
bands, they wouldn't feel like they had been wronged... but you wanted
the music and lyrics so you didn't have to pay for them? Were you paid
for your performances? Then why wouldn't you want to pay for the
material that "made money for you"?

What the hell has happened to ethics in this world? You are another
jerk with Clinton-like values.

nooooo.... please don't bring politics into this, Jan... it's bad enough we
have to put up with the ten thousand OTHER things that upset these people.

I don't think a Clinton comment was necessary. And please don't ask me to
explain WHY.

Hi Erin,

You are probably right.. about the Clinton barb, to some extent I was
being influenced by the news broadcasts being on in the background as I
was writing that bit.
I do however think the blatant "give me lyrics so I can circumvent the
system" is an attitude which would incur the rath of the NMPA, etc.

However, many of the older songs which I personally like are most likely
beyond copyright and are into public domain. I do however like the
search feature from ILS.

Thanks for writing,
Jan

Hi all,

I may be really off the wall, but as a working musician,
every venue I play is paying annual fees to ASCAP, BMI,
SESAC, and God knows who-all..
So, if I need the lyric to a song...
So I can keep working...
So the venue keeps having live music...
So all those guys keep getting their licensing fees...
So all the writers (including me) keep getting paid...
(whew!)

What the hell is so wrong with that?!?
