If anyone can post them please do, or any other info. like the writter
or singer would also be appreciated.

Thanks,
Nx

The song kinda goes like this, I think:

Augusta Georgia is just no place to be.

Well, my my
an American dream
where you can travel girl
Without any means
I bet a tropical vacation is near
we`ll split the difference
go to Coconut Grove.

It`s by the Dirt Band or The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, released in 1979 or
1980.

The song kinda goes like this, I think:

-------------------------------

Augusta Georgia is just no place to be.

Well,
my my
an American dream
where you can travel girl
Without any means

I feel a tropical vacation is near

we`ll split the difference
go to Coconut Grove.

-------------------------------

Thanks in advance,
Nx

The song is "Voila, An American Dream", but they may have dropped the
'voila' from the title. It's a song by Rodney Crowell, here's the lyrics
right off the innersleeve from the "Ain't Living Long Like This" classic
Lp, so I don't know if they did it differently..

Voila, An American Dream
(R. Crowell)

I beg your pardon, momma, what did you say
My mind was drifting on a Martinique day
It's not that I'm not interested, you see
Augusta, Georgia, is just no place to be.

Just think Jamaica in the moonlight
Sandy beaches, drinkin' rum every night
We've got no money, momma, but we can go
We'll split the difference and go to Coconut Grove.

Just keep on talking, momma, I can hear
Your voice, it tickles down inside of my ear
I feel a tropical vacation this year
Could be the answer to this Hillbilly beer.

Just think Jamaica in the moonlight
Sandy beaches, drinkin' rum every night
We've got no money, momma, but we can go
We'll split the difference and go to Coconut Grove.

Voila, and American dream
We can travel, girl, without any means
When it's as easy as closing your eyes
And dream Jamaica is a big neon sign.

Keep on talking, momma, I like the sound
It goes so good with the rain falling down
I feel a tropical vacation this year
Might be the answer to this Hillbilly beer.

Hello,

There is a very old song called "Coconut Grove"

There's a Coconut Grove
Where I'm sitting fancy
And there sweetheart,
we'll find romancing
And love for two,
By the light of a South Sea Island moon.
There is more but it has been 40 years since I played the old 78!
However if the song you want is more au current, then I won't bother!
Regards,
J. Hart

I beg your pardon mama what did you say
My mind was driftin' off on Martinique Bay
It's not that I'm not interested you see

CHORUS:
I think Jamaican in the moonlight
Sandy beaches drinkin' rum every night
We got no money mama but we can go
We'll split the difference go to Coconut Grove

Keep on talkin' mama I can hear
Your voice it tickles down inside of my ear

I feel a tropical vacation this year

CHORUS

Voila! An American dream
Well we can travel girl without any means
When it's as easy as closin' your eyes

And dream Jamaica is a big neon sign

Just keep talkin' mama I like that sound
It goes so easy with that rain fallin' down
I think a tropical vacation this year
Might be the answer to this hillbilly beer

And Voila! An American dream
Yeah we can travel girl without any means
When it's as easy as closin' your eyes
and dream Jamaica is a big neon sign

Just think Jamaican in the moonlight
Sandy beaches drinkin' rum every night
We got no money mama but we can go
Split the difference go to Coconut Grove
