Which Kingston Trio song would you like?

The Merry Minuet?
Scotch and Soda?
My personal favorite two...but there are many more they performed over
the years.

I only know the one by Chris Brown, but the text doesn't differ that much from version to version, does it? I think any version would help me :-)

KINGSTON TOWN
UB40

Tonight seems to fade but the moonlight lingers on
They're a wonder for everyone
The stars shine so bright but they're fading after dawn
There is magic in Kingston Town

Oh Kingston Town, the place I long to be
If I had me a world I would give it away just to see
The girls at play

When I am king surely I will need a queen
And the valleys and everything, yeah
And now I am king and my queen will come at dawn
She'll be waiting in Kingston Town

Oh Kingston Town, the place I long to be
If I had me a world I would give it away just to see
The girls at play
Yeah…

When I am king surely I will need a queen
And the valleys and everything, yeah
And now I am king and my queen will come at dawn
She'll be waiting in Kingston Town

She'll be waiting in Kingston Town
(repeat to fade)

Best regards,
Shurick Daryin

Hello,

I do not have an original request showing on my NG listings, but
wouldn't it be possible the original request was for the calypso version
by Harry Belafonte
Enjoy,
Jan Hart
To the effect:

JAMAICA FAREWELL
Harry Belafonte

Down the bay where the nights are gay
And the sun shines daily on the mountain top
I took a trip on a sailing ship
And when I reached Jamaica I made a stop

But I'm sad to say I'm on my way
Won't be back for many a day
My heart is down, my head is turning around
I had to leave a little girl in Kingston town<------

Down the market you can hear
Ladies cry out while on their heads they bear
`Akey' rice, salt fish are nice
And the rum is fine any time of year

Sounds of laughter everywhere
And the dancing girls sway to and fro
I must declare my heart is there
Though I've been from Maine to Mexico
