Here yah go

The Weight

I pulled into Nazareth, I was feeling about half past dead
I just need some place where I can lay my head
'Hey Mister can yah tell me, where a man might find a bed?'
He just grinned, shook my hand, 'No' was all he said

Chorus

Take a load off Fanny, take a load for free
Take a load off Fanny, And..... you put the load right on me.

I picked up my bag, I went looking for a place to hide
When I saw Carmen and the devil walking side by side
I said 'Hey Carmen, come on lets go downtown"
She said, "I got to go, but my friend can stick around"

Chorus

Go down, Miss Moses, there's nothing you can say.
It's just old Luke, and Luke's waiting on the judgement day.
"Well Luke my friend, what about young Anna Lee?"
He said, "Do me a favour son, won't you stay and keep Anna Lee company"

Chorus:

Crazy Chester followed me and he got me in the fog.
He said, "I will fix your rack, if you take Jack my dog"
I said, "wait a minute Chester, you know I'm a peaceful man"
He said "that's okay boy, won't you feed him when you can?"

Chorus

Get your Cannonball now, to take me down the line
My bag is sinking low and I do believe it's time
To get back to Miss Fanny, you know she's the only one
Who sent me here, with her regards for everyone.

Chorus

There she be

Hope it helps

Well, for one thing, "Willin' " is not The Band. It was the late, great
Lowell George who did that will Little Feat.

The Weight
(pretty sure it's Robbie Robertson and Bob Dylan)

I pulled into Nazareth, was feeling 'bout half past dead.
I just need someplace where I can lay my head.
Hey, mister, can you tell me where a man might find a bed?
He just grinned, he shook my hand, "No" was all he said.

CHO
Take a load off, Fanny,
Take a load for free.
Take a load off, Fanny.
And you put the load right on me.

I picked up my bag, I went looking for a place to hide

When I saw Carmen and the devil walk in side by side.
I said "Hey, Carmen, Come on, let's go downtown."
She said, "I gotta go, but my friend can stick around."

CHO.

Go down, Miss Moses, there's nothing you can say.

It's just old Luke and Luke's waiting for the Judgment Day.
Well, Luke, my friend, what about Miss Annalee?
He said, "Do me a favor, son, won't you stay and keep Annalee company?"

CHO

Crazy Chester followed me and he caught me in the fog.
He said, "I will fix your rack if you'll take Jack, my dog."
I said, "Wait a minute, Chester, no, I'm a peaceful man."
He said, "That's OK, boy, won't you feed him when you can?"

CHO.

Get your cannonball now to take me down the line.

My bag is sinking low and I do believe it's time
To get back to Miss Fanny, you know she's the only one

Who sent me here with her regards for everyone.

CHO.

WILLIN'
Lowell George

I' been warped by the rain, driven by the snow,
I'm drunk and dirty but don't you know that I'm still Willin'.
Out on the road, late last night,
I seen my pretty Alice in every headlight, Alice. Dallas Alice.

And I've been from Tucson to Tucumcari,
Tehachapi to Tonopah.
I've driven every kind of rig that's ever been made,
Driven the backroads so I wouldn't get weighed.
And if you give me weed, whites, and wine,
And you show me a sign,
Then I'll be Willin' to be moving.

(Break)

And I've been kicked by the wind, robbed by the sleet,
Had my head stove in, but I'm still on my feet
And I'm still Willin'.
And I've smuggled some smokes and folks from Mexico,
Baked by the sun every time I go to Mexico,
Yeah, but I'm still.

And I've been from Tucson, etc.. ...

I'm not sure they're completely accurate, but they're pretty close

THE WEIGHT
The Band
by J.R.Robertson. Album: Music from Big Pink
For an analysis of the lyrics, and more, see Peter Viney's article on
"The
Weight.

I pulled into Nazareth, was feelin' about half past dead;
I just need some place where I can lay my head.
"Hey, mister, can you tell me where a man might find a bed?"
He just grinned and shook my hand, and "No!", was all he said.

(Chorus:)
Take a load off Fanny, take a load for free;
Take a load off Fanny, And (and) (and) you can put the load right on
me.

I picked up my bag, I went lookin' for a place to hide;
When I saw Carmen and the Devil walkin' side by side.
I said, "Hey, Carmen, come on, let's go downtown."
She said, "I gotta go, but m'friend can stick around."

(Chorus)

Go down, Miss Moses, there's nothin' you can say
It's just ol' Luke, and Luke's waitin' on the Judgement Day.
"Well, Luke, my friend, what about young Anna Lee?"
He said, "Do me a favor, son, woncha stay an' keep Anna Lee company?"

I said, "Wait a minute, Chester, you know I'm a peaceful man."
He said, "That's okay, boy, won't you feed him when you can."

(Chorus)

Catch a cannon ball now, t'take me down the line
My bag is sinkin' low and I do believe it's time.
To get back to Miss Fanny, you know she's the only one.

Who sent me here with her regards for everyone.

No, Dylan gets no credit on this. Mind you, the way Levon Helm tells
it, that means nothing when Robbie's around.
