Need some help...there are two songs I can't get out of my mind...of about
the late 70's...never heard them again...

***One sounded like "Psycho chicken, fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-...(like chicken
cackle)....."

***The other one I think was called "Psycho killer", sung by a man with a
curious voice....

Maybe in my recollections I mix the songs up, but I'm pretty sure those are
two different songs...

Is there someone in the age of 30 - 40 who remembers?

Should be glad about ID (Artists or even lyrics...)
Thanks a lot
Silke

Talking Heads did Psycho Killer and I think the Chicken one originated
from Australia but not totally sure. The man with the curious voice is
the great David Byrne

U mean this?

Talking Heads
Once In A Life Time

Psycho Killer

I can't seem to face up to the facts
I'm tense and nervous and I
Can't relax
I can't sleep 'cause my bed's on fire
Don't touch me I'm a real live wire

Psycho Killer
Qu'est Que C'est
fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better
Run run run run run run run away
Psycho Killer
Qu'est Que C'est
fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better
Run run run run run run run away

You start a conversation you can't even finish it.
You're talkin' a lot, but you're not sayin' anything.
When I have nothing to say, my lips are sealed.
Say something once, why say it again?

Psycho Killer,
Qu'est Que C'est
fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better
Run run run run run run run away
Psycho Killer
Qu'est Que C'est
fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better
Run run run run run run run away

(* Spoken interlude in French *)

Psycho Killer,
Qu'est Que C'est
fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better
Run run run run run run run away
Psycho Killer,
Qu'est Que C'est
fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better
Run run run run run run run away

oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh....

See ya

"Psycho Chicken" was by the Fools, the same guys who did "Life Sucks
and then you Die".

I think their song parodies are at least as good if not some how
better than Weird Al.

Found a yellow vinyl 7" of "Psycho Chicken" at a record fair for 50c. Had
to grab it. BTW, the two versions on this put either a beep over the
critical word or a rooster crow over the three words. The missing word in
the last verse sounds like "toast." Hardly a comedy classic, but WTF.
Here it is:

The Fools
"Psycho Chicken"

I can't seem to face up to the facts

I'm tense and nervous and I can't relax
This Colonel Sanders job is gettin' me down
A crazy chicken chasing me all over town

CHORUS:
Psycho Chicken--what the fuck?
Bwak bwak bwak bwaaak bwak bwak bwak bwak bwaaak bwak
Better run run run run run run run away

I don't know just what to do
He's got a grudge against Frank Perdue
He's clucking a lot, but he's not saying anything
I plucked him once--why pluck him again?--CHORUS

Colonel Sanders wants to cook his goose

but Psycho Chicken's still on the loose

("Hmm, a little chickie--" BWAAK!! "OHH!!")

They caught him down in Ohio
They cut off his head and they put him in the oven
They put him in a box right next to a roll
Put some (...) around his legs and someone took him home
Ate him for lunch and he tasted real fine ("BURP!")
but the guy who ate him, he just lost his mind!
HALF-CHORUS (with "Qu'est-ce que?")
CHORUS (with "What the fuck?")

("Ooh, it's all covered in feathers!")

Dear Tim, Barry, MLS, David, Morehits4you, John, Grant and Anthony,

thanks a lot for your contributions. At least my mind was right there were
two versions. I'm glad about my brain :-))))

The question is, why isn't anywhere anything to be found about the Fools.
After the first one of you told me the artist's name by mail I started to
search for it in http://www.ubl.com/ - the ?ultimate? band list. Nothing.
But I'm really pleased about the case being clarified...and of course about
the lyrics...
only the music's missing...

Did a small search myself using Yahoo, and there was a bit about them on
the Trouser Press Online Record Guide--www.trouserpress.com.

Apart from a whole lot of extra silly noises on the Fools' version, the
music was pretty close to the original.
