Anyone got the lyrics to the following songs in the movie “French Kiss” (Meg
Ryan, Kevin Kline)?

Verlaine - Charles Trenet
C'est Trop Beau - Tino Rossi

Hi there,
Here is Verlaine, I had just looked it up again for my husband. Were
you aware that the poem was used as the que to the French that D-Day was
under way? Don't you just love trivia?! Anyway, Charles Trenet wrote
the music to Paul Verlaine's poem.

Chanson d'automne or Verlaine
Music by Charles Trenet

Les sanglots longs
Des violons
De l'automne
Blessent mon coeur
D' une langueur
Monotone.

Tout suffocant
Et blême, quand
Sonne l' heure,
Je me souviens
Des jours anciens
Et je pleure;

Et je m'en vais
Au vent mauvais
Qui m' emporte
Deçà, delà,
Pareil à la
Feuille morte.

Paul Verlaine

I have only bits of "C'est Trop Beau" but if you want what I have please
let me know. It is just gorgeous. Must have been from Rossi's 50' and
60's recordings.
If for any reason you can get the C'est Trop Beau, please send it!
Regards,
Jan Hart

You are absolutely beautiful. Many thanks. Yes I want what you got for
"C'est Trop Beau". I have already order the sound track, so it would be very
nice to have the lyrics. I will be happy to make you a copy of the music.

The other day some one in the goup asked for the lyrics to the French song
"lady lay" and I got that. I was happy that I was able to help.

I have been collecting French lyrics. If you need others please let me know.

Dear David,
Sorry I had problems with your address!
Nevertheless, the following lyric is INCOMPLETE, I have only put down
what I could hear, and as a non-proficient in French person I am sure
there are mistakes. However, to my ear the words were typed.......

C'EST TROP BEAU by Raymond Vincy and F. Lopez recorded by Tino Rossi

C'est trop beau, notre venture
C'est trop beau, pour être vrai

C'est trop beau

Et longtemps, qu'on soir de te
Donc

Je viens de lire, comment a vrai

C'est trop beau, notre venture
C'est trop beau, pour être vrai

C'est trop beau, la joie profonde
Paradis, vous adorais
Difficiles, une segunde
Et soudain, tout a changé

A presente, je te desiré
Et tout matire, dans temps

C'est trop beau, notre venture
C'est trop beau, pour être vrai.

dear David,
Just a note to let you know that the lyrics you were given for "c'est trop beau'
are not quite correct. This is how it goes :
C'est trop beau, notre aventure.. C'est trop beau, pour être vrai, il suffit d'une
seconde et soudain tout est changé... Maintenant je te désire et tu m'attires ...

Actually I don't remember the rest of the song, i(ve got to listen to it again and
I'll send you the rest of the lyrics if you wish !
