Dear All,

Can anyone help me out with the rest of the lyrics (see subject).

My two year old son likes the song and to make his life more complete I'd
like to fill in the rest of it.

Thanks, in advance, for any help.

Angus.

Sounds like it's from Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. Someone else
can fill in the name of the song?

Thanks for thought but the song I'm looking for is more of a kiddies song.

The second line is something like...

"Go get the farmer his gun, gun, gun".

I think I've heard it on the BBC series "Dad's Army" from the '70's.

Does this jog anyone's memories ?

Angus.

I've heard that one before, but only part of it. I was visiting London and
went to see a play on March 17, 1984. They played that song sort of as a
theme song for the play. It was called "See How They Run", and while I
can't find any mention of the song in the program, it starred Peter Blake,
Bill Pertwee, Christopher Timothy and others. Maybe this will help you
search the web. Good luck.

I believe it was Flannigan and Allen from around the mid 1940s.

I can ask my Mum or Dad if they can remember the lyrics if you like.

"Run, Rabbit Run" was recorded by Bud Flanagan & Chesney Allen in 1939,
and was intended as friendly advice to rabbits during the food shortages.

A very short piece of this song was indeed used as link music in at least
one episode of Dad's Army.
As for the lyrics, here you go:

On the farm, every Friday
On the farm, it's rabbit pie day
So every Friday that ever comes along
I get up early and sing this little song

Run rabbit, run rabbit, run, run, run
Run rabbit, run rabbit, run, run, run
Bang, bang, bang, bang goes the farmer's gun
Run rabbit, run rabbit, run, run, run, run

Run rabbit, run rabbit, run, run, run
Don't give the farmer his fun, fun, fun
He'll get by without his rabbit pie
So run rabbit, run rabbit, run, run, run.

<Music chorus>

Run rabbit, run rabbit, run, run, run
Run rabbit, run rabbit, run, run, run
Bang, bang, bang, bang, goes the farmer's gun
Run rabbit, run rabbit, run, run, run, run

Run rabbit, run rabbit, run, run, run
Don't give the farmer his fun, fun, fun
He'll get by without his rabbit pie
So run rabbit, run rabbit, run, run, run.

Hmm...Much better than any Spice Girls song, don't you think? :o)

Breathe

Breathe, breathe in the air
Don't be afraid to care
Leave but don't leave me
Look around and chose your own ground
For long you live and high you fly
And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be

Run, run rabbit run
Dig that hole, forget the sun,
And when at last the work is done
Don't sit down it's time to start another one
For long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race toward an early grave.

The nursery rhyme is:

In a cabin in the woods
Little man by the window stood
Saw a rabbit hopping by
Knocking at his door
(Frightened as can be)

"Help me, help me, help," he said
Or the hunter will shoot me dead"
"Little rabbit, come inside,
Safely to abide."

Itty bitty cabin in the woods
Itty bitty man by the window stood
Saw a rabbit hopping by
Knocking at his door
(Frightened as can be)

"Help me, help me, help," he said
’fore the hunter shoots me dead"
"Come little rabbit, come with me
Happy we will be."

Great big cabin in the woods
Great big man by the window stood
Saw a rabbit hopping by
Knocking at his door
(Frightened as can be)

"Help me, help me, help," he said
Or the hunter will shoot me dead"
"Come little rabbit, come inside,
Safely you may hide."
