Actually, this line is, "Two angels who've been rescued from the *fog*..."
I know that fall makes a lot more sense, and I thought that's what it
was, as well, but the movie the song is from, _Chances Are_, was on HBO a
couple weeks ago, and I have closed captioning on my set. The song came
on at the end of the movie and I watched the lyrics-- it's fog.

Just because it was worded with "fog" on closed captioning doesn't mean it
is "fog". That simply means that the "stenographer" heard the word "fog"
and typed that. It could still be "fall". But I'm not positive. I don't
remember the song. Perhaps I'll rewatch the credits and see if I can
determine what the line is and maybe I'll get back to you.

My wife and I used to perform this song, and the sheet music says "fall".
While sheet music is not always correct, it makes more sense as you said.
Angels fall (they do not fog); besides, it rhymes with the word at the end of
the chorus, "all" (as in "After All").
