Sting - Englishman in New York

My question isn't about the song lyrics.

On the inside cover of the album Nothing Like the Sun,
Sting has written a paragraph corresponding to
most of the songs on the album. His paragraph for
Englishman in New York is:

"I shall meet you outside the railway
station. You shall know me by the cut
of my clothes and the smell of my cologne."

Can anyone identify this quote ???
Is it from a play or some other piece
of literature?

This has bugged me for years....
