I need the lyrics to "I hear you Knocking" By Either Dave Edmunds or
Smiley Lewis, or a point in the right direction.

Thanks

Ok, here goes....

You went away and left me long time ago
Now you're knocking on my door
I hear you knocking, but you can't come in
I hear you knocking, go back where you been

I begged you not to go but you said goodbye
And now you're telling me all your lies
I hear you knocking, but you can't come in
I hear you knocking, go back where you been

You better get back to your used-to-be
Cos you're kinda love aint good for me
I hear you knocking, but you can't come in
I hear you knocking, go back where you been

I told you way back in '52
That I would never go with you
I hear you knocking.......etc

Does anyone know what the song is about?
I've read the lyrics and still can't
figure it out.
Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I guess I do (a little); it is about nothing in particular.
The lyrics were written by P.H's 'house' poet/lyricist and are intended
to install a feeling of melancholy into you.
If you'd forward me the lyrics I will comment upon them, line by line.
Maybe that'll clear things up.
Erwin.
