Hello Ulla,

Jiminy Cricket definitely sang "Your dreams come true" in my Pinocchio
vid. But according to sheet music sources (from your local musical
instrument store), there's an extra verse sung before the start of the
first verse. It goes something like this,

When a star is born
They possess a gift or two
One of them is this
They have the power to make a dream come true

I think this is right. I'm not too sure 'cos I'm not home right now.

You can find the lyrics at this Taiwanese Disney site (really great) at
http://www.enlighting.com.tw/~jmchen/disney/lyrics/index.html. Scripts
are also available at

Bye-bye......Jacq

In case anyone wants to know... The voice of Jiminy Cricket was Cliff
"Ukulele Ike" Edwards, a jazz/novelty singer from the 1930's. Such was his
popularity that he was single-handedly responsible for Ukulele chords being
included on sheet music for over 50 years. He was a down and out drunk when
Disney gave him a chance to do some cartoon voice-overs. He later worked at
Disneyland at a kids "singalong" show. I heard he was finally let go when
the little kiddies reported back to mom and dad singing foul lyrics to
popular Disney songs of the day. I have several of his old records...

For some REAL trivia... about 20 years ago I was watching "Gone With the
Wind" for the first time (I'm 43). During the scene where Scarlet is walking
among thousands of Confederate soldiers that are laying wounded on an
Atlanta street, you can hear Cliff Edwards say something (I don't remember
what it is) to her. When I heard it I immediately said, "Jiminy Cricket!!!".
Jiminy's voice was not a put-on for Cliff, his voice actually sounded that
way. I don't know if he is in the movie credits for this. Also, I noticed
that one of the twins that come to court Charlotte is "Superman"... George
Reeves of the 1950's TV show.

Ulla, you might try renting the English version Video of Walt Disneys Pinnochio
if it is available in your market.

Whether "Dream" is singular or plural is a fairly minor point, I could easily
see the song being sung twice in the same movie with both variations.

If you're that concerned about accuracy, drop a line to Disney itself
and ask them for a clarification. They are the authorities on such, and
should be able to quote chapter and verse about it.

Or you could go rent the movie "Pinocchio" by Disney. The singing cricket
should br able to give you the final word on that line.
