>does anyone know of songs which contain any mention of chevy?
there's an older song, perhaps from the 70's, kinda rock-a-billy,
named "Rock-n-Roll Heart". Sang by a man whose name I don't know.
Great song...
I get off on a '57 chevy
I get off on a screamin' guitar
Like the way it gets me
Everytime it hits me
I've gotta rock-n-roll
I've got a rock-n-roll heart
Maya
>does anyone know of songs which contain any mention of chevy?
Much as I hate to risk reviving it, there's "Chevy Van" by Sammy Johns
And "Uneasy Rider" by Charlie Daniels
>does anyone know of songs which contain any mention of chevy?
thought of another one! Name of it is unknown to me, but it goes
something like this...
bye bye miss american pie
took my chevy to the levy but the levy was dry
and them good ol' boys were drinking whiskey and rye
singing this will be the day that I die
this will be the day that I die
Maya
:does anyone know of songs which contain any mention of chevy?
american pie, "drove my chevy to the levy"
bob segar night moves "out in the back of my 60 chevy"
Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry...
She woke up and took me by the hand
We made love in my Chevy van...
Out in the backroads where the woods got heavy
Out in the backseat of my '60 Chevy...

Only one that comes to mind right now is American Pie by Don McLean:
Bye bye miss american pie,
drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levy was dry ......
Aaron
Well, if you'll allow "Chevrolet" also, here's a few:
"American Pie" by Don McLean
"Keeping the Faith" by Billy Joel
"When You Close Your Eyes" by Night Ranger (BLETCH!)
"Night Moves" by Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band
The Beach Boys have lots of references to various cars
in their lyrics: "Little Deuce Coupe" and "Fun, Fun, Fun" come
to mind. You might want to check through one of their lyrics
archives.
...and it seems a foregone conclusion that Bruce Springsteen
referred to Chevrolets somewhere in his "ouvre"... maybe
in "Born To Run" where the lyrics describe "riding through
mansions of glory in suicide machines"? :-)

I remember one from the Sappy Seventies called "Chevy Van"
but sorry, have (maybe purposely) blanked out the details.

And of course American Pie (Chevy to the levee...)

This song is by Eric Clapton on his "money &cigarettes" album circa 1980

The 'fuel injected sting ray' in 'shut down' is a chevrolet product..
as is the 'real fine' 409..
Whats a 413?
Off the top of my head:
"American Pie" Don McLean
"Chevy Van" Sammy Johns
"You Never Can Tell" Chuck Berry
Phil
American Pie - Don McLean
"Drove My chevy to the levy, but the levy was
dry..."
When You Close Your Eyes - Night Ranger
"We learned about love in the back of a
chevrolet..."

I donm't know if the word "chevy" or "Chevrolet" is used in the song, but
there's always Bitchen Camaro. I forget at the moment who the artist is but I
thing the name starts with "Dead" (ie Milkmen, Kennedies, or something)

I just remembered another one: "Rapid Roy The Stock Car Boy" by Jim Croce.
Rapid Roy that stock car boy, he's too much to believe

What about Dodge references?
"Barefoot girl sittin' on the hood of a Dodge" from "Jungle Land"
not to mention "Hemi-powered drones".
I'm getting old now; do cars still mean what they used to to the 16-to-24
crowd? I can't seem to work up much passion for the Yugos and Escorts on the
road. Of course we DID have Pacers. :)
