you might be thinking of "who could it be now" by men at work
or "let em in" by paul mccartney..
Ray
Somebody's knocking
Should I let him in
Lord it's the devil
Won't you look at him
Then something about him in blue jeans.
I think I have it on 45. If you don't get any info please let me know
and I will dig it out and try to transcribe the lyrics for you.

"Somebody's Knockin'" by Terri Gibbs, blind country singer who scored a top 10
hit with this in 1981. Her career never really went much beyond that.
The song is available on ...
Various Artists - Radio Daze: Pop Hits Of The 80s, Vol. 5
plus the origibal album (which is quite good) if you can locate that on vinyl.

Somebody's knockin' at my door
Who could it be
Tip toe accross the floor
If he hears he'll knock all day
I'll be trapped
And here I'll have to stay
I mean no harm I keep to myself
There's nothing wrong with my
State of mental health
Who could it be now (etc)
If this is it then it's Men at Work
Pete
The singer's first name is "Terry" but I don't remember the last name.
Guess that doesn't help too much.
"I'd heard about him...
but I never dreamed.
He'd have blue eyes and blue jeans"
Then she says something like:
"He must have tapped my telephone line
He must have known I was spending my time
Alone"
It is by Terri Gibbs.

Fernando, I'm usually much better at this but I couldn't find
the lyrics anywhere. I think you're talking about a song that goes:
Somebody's knocking
should I let 'em in?
Lord it's the devil
and would you look at him.
I've heard about him but I never dreamed
he'd have blue eyes and blue jeans...
If so, I can hear a name like Terry Crawford maybe and the
title of "Somebody's Knockin'" for sure.
I wish I could offer more, but this may help your search.

I have since had a revelation and believe the singer to be one
Terri Gibbs....possibly.

It can't be "Let'em In". It goes like:
"Somebody's knocking at the door, somebody's ringing the bell ..
do me a favour, open the door, and let'em in..."
It doesn't sing "who could it be?" ....
later
Dona
SOMEBODY'S KNOCKING
SHOULD I LET THEM IN
LORD, IT'S THE DEVIL
WOULD YOU LOOK AT HIM
I think the singers name is Jennifer Warner (or Warnes)
