Anybody have the rest of the lyrics? My understanding is that Tanya Tucker
did "Delta Dawn" circa 1976, was it a re-make when she did it? If so who
was the original artist? Any ideas? e-mail me : D...@NETINS.NET

This is all that I have on this song.. I hope it contains the rest of the
lyrics your looking for...
DELTA DAWN (Alex Harvey & Larry Collins)

G G C G
Delta Dawn, what's that flower you have on
G G D D
Could it be a faded rose from days gone by
G G C G
And did I hear you say he was a-meeting you here today
G G - D C G
To take you to his mansion in the sky

G F G G
She's forty-one and her daddy still calls her "baby"
G F G G
All the folks around Brownsville say she's crazy
C - E/B Am - D7 G G
'Cause she walks around town with a suitcase in her hand
G F G G
Looking for a mysterious dark-haired man

In her younger days they called her Delta Dawn
Prettiest woman you ever laid eyes on
Then a man of low degree stood by her side
And promised her he'd take her for his bride

Delta Dawn, what's that flower you have on
Could it be a faded rose from days gone by
And did I hear you say he was a-meeting you here today
To take you to his mansion in the sky
