Ah yes, the risqué dance tune from carnal Clarence.

STROKIN'
Clarence Carter
Dr. C.C.
1987
When I start makin' love,
I don't just make love
I be strokin'
That's what I be doin'
I be strokin'
(Chorus)
I stroke it to the east
And I stoke it to the west
I stroke it to the woman that
I love the best
I be strokin'
Let me ask you something
What time of the day do you like to make love?
Have you ever made love just before breakfast?
Have you ever made love while you watch the late, late show?
Well let me ask you this
Have you ever made love on a couch?
Well let me ask you this
Have you ever made love on the back seat of a car?
I remember one time I made love on the back seat of a car
And the police came and shine his light on me
And I say "I'm strokin'
That's what I'm doin'
I be strokin'!"
I stroke it to the east
And I stoke it to the west
I stroke it to the woman that
I love the best
I be strokin'
Let me ask you something
How long has it been since you made love? Huh?
Did you make love yesterday?
Did you make love last week?
Did you make love last year?
Or maybe it might be
That you plannin' on makin' love tonight
Well just remember
When you start makin' love
You make it hard, long, soft, short
And be strokin'
I be strokin'
I stroke it to the east
And I stoke it to the west
I stroke it to the woman that
I love the best
I be strokin'
Now when I start makin' love to my woman
I don't stop until I know she's sassified
And I can always tell when she gets sassified
Because when she gets sassified, she start callin' my name
She say "Clarence Carter, Clarence Carter, Clarence Carter,
Clarence Carter, ooooo shit, Clarence Carter"
The other night I was strokin' my woman
And it got so good to her,
You know what she told me
Let me tell you what she told me
She said "stroke it Clarence Carter,
But don't stroke so fast
If my stuff ain't tight enough
You can stick it up my ... "
Whoh!
I be strokin' (ha-ha-ha-ha)
I be strokin'
I stroke it to the east
And I stoke it to the west
I stroke it to the woman that
I love the best
I be strokin'
I be strokin' (ha-ha-ha-ha)
I be strokin' (yeah)
I be strokin'
I stroke it to the north
I stroke it to the south
I stroke it everywhere
I even stroke it with my ...
Whoh!
I be strokin' (ha-ha)
I be strokin' (yeah)
I be strokin'

If he'd sung that what he was
President he'd probably have
been impeached.
He was the most moral one we
ever had.

[Before riding the bicycle]
Etta: Do you know what you're doing?
Butch: Theoretically.
I am assuming you are making some sort of veiled reference to the
impeachment proceedings of United States President Clinton?
This brings to mind the punch line from an old joke. The Lone Ranger
and Tonto are surrounded by 10,000 Indians/Native North Americans on the
warpath. The Lone Ranger turns to Tonto and asks him: "well faithful
friend and companion, what are we going to do now?" Tonto replies:
"what do you mean *we* white man?"
Let me drive my point home. Not everyone in this newsgroup is
American. As a Canadian, I take exception to having something I post to
alt.music.lyrics, a non-political newsgroup, be sullied by the taint of
American politics - any and all American politics. If you feel you must
contribute to the noise being generated over that issue, add it to the
appropriate political newsgroup. alt.music.lyrics is not the forum for
such a discussion.

oh really? Is this some sort of reference
to somebody's "is" thing?

I'm working on a reply but I'm a little
busy right now with some things and
I'm not really in the mood right now
to get cranked up. When I am, I'll post it.
Until then I suggest you call a cop.

Please don't reply to the newsgroup. If you feel you *must* reply then
e-mail Leigh directly. The topic of discussion in this newsgroup is Lyrics
and all postings should be restricted to that topic.
Of course, your lyrics-related messages are quite welcome here. I only ask
that you resist the temptation to post messages that are *not*
lyrics-related.
Thank you.

Mr. Garvin,
I think I know a little about lyrics.
If you have a problem I suggest you
talk to the person who had the original
problem.
Thanks very much.

Great! We'll look forward to your postings about lyrics then.

Just trying to keep everyone on-topic.
Lyrics-related postings are most welcome.
Postings about politics are not.
Merry Christmas!
