Oh gee, my dad used to have this on a record that he played all the time when I
was a kid. Here's what I remember! Maybe someone else will send you more
authenticated lyrics, but at least here's a start!

In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia
On the trail of the lonesome pine
In the pale moonshine our hearts entwined
Where she carved her name and I carved mine
Oh June like the [something] in bloom
Like the pine I'll be waiting for you
In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia
On the trail of the lonesome pine

Off the top of my head, the most accessible place is probably renting the old
Laurel and Hardy short where they are traveling in a trailer.

The name of the song is

The Trail of The Lonesome Pine
(McDonald/Carroll)

On a mountain
in Virginia
Stands a lonesome pine
Just below
is a cabin home
of a little girl of mine
her name is june
and very very soon
she'll belong to me
all I know
shes waiting there for me
'neath that lone pine tree

In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia

on the trail of the lonesome pine
in the pale moonshine our hearts entwine
where she calls to me and I call mine
oh june like the fountains of blue
like the pine I'm so lonesome for you

In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia

on the trail of the lonesome pine

You are probably correct (compared to my weak version on the first line_) but
no one has yet verified exactlywhat the "oh June.." line should be.

Flowers would fit, but thats not what I hear on my particularly raggedy
version, which is probably misremembered as well (do misunderstood lyrics make
it onto cover recordings? yes)

The Trail of the Lonesome Pine
- words by Ballard MacDonald, music by Harry Carroll
- from the Laurel and Hardy film "Way Out West"

On a mountain in Virginia, stands a lonesome pine.
Just below is the cabin home of a little girl of mine.
Her name is June and very, very soon, she'll belong to me.
For I know she's waiting there for me, 'Neath that lone pine tree.

In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia,
On the Trail of the Lonesome Pine.
In the pale moonshine, our hearts entwine,
Where she carved her name and I carved mine,
Oh June, like the mountains I'm blue.
Like the pine, I am lonesome for you.
In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia,
On the Trail of the Lonesome Pine.
