Can anyone provide any info about this group's background? I don't know
anything about them, not even their names, but I've always liked this
song. Seems like a there are a male and a female trading verses on this
song. Is that right? Any info would be appreciated.

I don't know much about the band either, but remembering something a
friend told me....she saw them a few years ago as a regrouping of the
group in Colorado - anyways, I had always thought it was a woman and man,
but she said it was two men who sang the song which was quite surprising
to me.

This band, Head East, had 5 members. None of them were female. It is all
male voices you hear. This song, "Never Been Any Reason" was off their
1975 album, Flat As a Pancake. They only had a few albums total, two or
three. That, in my opinion, was their best song but they had a few good
ones on the Pancake album. That's about all I know.

This was a really good album , Never Been Any Reason was one of my
alltime favorites to play "LOUD" specially during my college years . It
was kind of an anthem .

The tune is from "Flat As A Pancake". I purchased the CD in
Boise, Idaho. If Boise has the CD, it should be available anywhere...

If you really like this song but are not sure about the whole Head
East album, buy the 2nd volume of the DAZED AND CONFUSED soundtrack,
EVEN MORE D & C. I bought it specifically for that reason, myself.
It also contains great '70s songs by The Edgar Winter Group, Alice
Cooper, Peter Frampton, The Steve Miller Band, Foghat and others.
If you're a product of the '70s like myself, you will find both of the
D&C sountrack CDs something to put on the box while noodling around
the hacienda on a Sunday afternoon. It's like listening to the radio
circa 1976, and is quite a nostalgia trip. When the wife and kiddies
are away, I can put them on and relive some of the best, acrefree
summers of my life. I just make sure that the ol' lady doesn't know
that some of my reminiscences are about her teenage predecessors in my
life! ;-)
