This one is a little hard. It isn't a common 70's rock song, but it is
played sometimes. Here it goes:

1) The lyrics go something like, "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, would you let it
ride?"
2) In other parts, the word "goodbye" is sung in the background as the
main vocalist goes on. "[Goodbye]....yes I know you" might be a
lyric.
3) It was a mix of acoustic and electric guitar.

Not much, but that's all I know. All I really got is point #1.

It's a Bachman Turner Overdrive song from 1975 named Let it Ride.

to say it.

Thanks, that's it! I've never heard of that band, but I confirmed that
it is them on CDNOW. Thanks again!

The lead vocals in BTO were handled mostly by Randy Bachman (Also lead
guitar and co-founder of The Guess Who) and Bassist Fred Turner. Fred
Turner handled the lead vocal in Let It Ride. You ain't seen nothin yet
was Randy Bachman on lead vocal.

Looking through their biography, I recognized a ton of their songs such
as "Taking care of Business" and "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet." These
are the kind of songs that are so popular, the DJ's don't even bother
mentioning the names of the bands that played them. But give me some
credit: in my original message, I was going to say that the song sounded
a lot like The Guess Who. BTO was formed by one of the members from
Guess Who.

No offense intended. My comment, which I should have clarified I suppose,
was because it made me feel very old to realize there might be people out
there who have never heard of BTO...that is all. I grew up listening to BTO,
the Doobie Brothers, The Guess Who, America, CCR, James Taylor, Jim Croce,
Cat Stevens... to name a few. It made me realize I just might be turning
into my mother after all...LOL

Trent, (excuse my spelling) I'm pretty sure that's a Bachman Turner song and
the name may be "Let it Ride"

....and would you cry
if I told you that I lied
would you say good bye
or would you let it ride....

And here are the Lyrics:

Let It Ride
Bachman-Turner Overdrive

Good Bye, Hard Life
Don't Cry Would you let it ride?
(repeat)

You can't see the mornin', but I can see the light
Ride ride ride let it ride
While you've been out runnin' I've been waitin' half the night
Ride ride ride let it ride

(Chorus)And would you cry if I told you that I lied and would you say goodbye Or

would you let it ride? And would you cry if I told you that I lied and
would you say goodbye Or would you let it ride?

Babe my life is not complete I never see you smile
Ride ride ride let it ride
Baby you want the forgivin' kind and that's just not my style
Ride ride ride let it ride

Chorus

I've been doin' things worthwhile, you've been bookin' timeRide ride ride let it
ride

Chorus

Would you let it ride (x4) (Drum)
Ride ride ride let it ride (x5)
Would you let it ride? (x4)
(Instrumental fade.)
