Here's the lyrics:
Have Gun, Will Travel
Written by Johnny Western, Sam Rolfe and Richard Boone
"Have Gun, Will Travel" reads the card of a man
A knight without armour in a savage land
This fast gun for hire heeds the calling wind
A soldier of fortune is the man called Paladin
Paladin, Paladin, where do you roam?
Paladin, Paladin, far, far from home
He travels on to wherever he must
A chess knight of silver is his badge of trust
There are campfire legends that the plainsmen sing
Of the man with the gun, of the man called Paladin
Paladin, Paladin, where do you roam?
Paladin, Paladin, far, far from home
Far from home, far from home

Have gun, will travel, reads the card of a man
A knight without armour in a savage land
A fast gun for hire he's a man called Paladin
Paladin Paladin where do you roam
Paladin Paladin far, far from home...
That's all they sang on Stand By Me, hope it helps...

OK, Wayne et al--time for a little trivia. Everyone knows that Paladin
had a chess-piece knight on his business card but what did the lettering
below it say?

all I can remember is:
Have gun, will travel reads the card of a man.
A knight without honor in a savage land.
something something something.

Coming to you live from the Grand Old Opery, it's Bill Monroe and his Blue Grass Boys singing "Stick it where the Sun don't shine!"

When I was a kid, I thought Paladin's first name was "Wire". <g>
(Loved the show; still have the board game.)
Celia
If memory serves, the card read: "Wire Paladin, San Francisco." A joke at the
time was that Paladin's first name was Wire since it never was given in the
show.
