In article <51q2qf$r...@newsbf02.news.aol.com>,

Stand By Me was done by Ben E. King *after* he left The Drifters
to go solo, was it not? (As a side note, it was also once recorded by
none other than Muhammad Ali--rest assured King's version is much better.)

I think it goes like:

-------------------------------------------------------------------

When the night
Has come
And the land is dark,
And the moon
Is the only
Light we'll see,

No, I won't
Be afraid.
No, I won't
Be afraid.
Just as long
As you stand
Stand by me.

So darlin', darlin' stand
By me.
Oh, stand
By me.
Oh, stand
Stand by me.
Stand by me.

If the sky
That we look upon
Should tumble and fall
Or the mountains
Should crumble
To the sea,

I won't cry.
I won't cry.
No, I won't
Shed a tear.
Just as long
As you stand
Stand by me.

And darlin', darlin' stand
By me.
Oh, stand
By me.
Oh, stand
Stand by me.
Stand by me.

Darlin', darlin' stand
By me.
Oh, stand
By me.
Oh, stand
Stand by me.
Stand by me.

Whenever you're in trouble, won't you stand
By me?
Oh, stand
By me.
