Does anyone have the lyrics to this song. This is an "oldie".

My wife and I were out for a drive the other day and were trying
to remember all the lyrics.

We think the title is "May You Always"

I haven't had any luck finding this on the lyrics web page.
The first verse goes something like this;

"May you always walk in sunshine,
May the bluebird sing your song,
May no troubles travel your way,
May no worries stay-ay too long"

Other words;

"May you always live with laughter,
For a smile becomes you so"

"May good fortune cross your doorway,"

"May you always be a dreamer,
May your fondest dreams come true,
May you find some one to love,
As much as I love you"

We are pretty sure we first heard it in the fifties, so it probably
predates that. I wouldn't be surprised if it was sung by Bing
Crosby.

Thanks in advance

Cheers

Bob

Sounds a lot like "Forever Young", which was covered by Joan Baez.
I'm not sure, it might be by Bob Dylan. If so, it would probably be
early 60's rather than 50's.

No, no, not Forever Young!!! I think you have the right title. Our high
school's beginning choir sang it last year, if I'm thinking of the right
song; according to my info, it's by L. Markes and D. Charles, whoever they
are. Hope this helps.

It`s not "Forever Young", but FYI the Dylan wrote the song in 1973.

"May You Always" was sung by the Andrews Sisters, recorded sometimes in the
late '50s...great slow-dance tune...

May you always walk in sunlight,
Slumber warm when night winds blow,
---
For a smile becomes you so...

...May you find someone to love
As much as I love you.

(Hey, Ed Krause, Parma Senior High School class of Back Then, are you still the
hunka hunka that you were then? Kisses...)

May you always..etc. was sung by the Maguire Sisters - who, like the
Chordettes, got their national exposure on the Arthur Godfrey show. The star
of the trio was Phyllis Maguire -- who shocked her fans by dating Sam
Giancana, a mafia bigwig that she met while the group was performing in Las
Vegas.
