I've been singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" for the past two weeks, and
I can't remember
the lyrics to my favorite part of the song, the intro. The intro wasn't
included in the movie
version of the song, but it's on the anniversary CD in the outtakes section
and it's also in the
musical. I remember very few of the words: "When all the world is a
hopeless jumble . . . .,
. . .from your windowpane. To a place beyond the sun, just a step behind
the rain." Sound familiar to anyone? If someone could post the lyrics to
these few lines I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I have this by Tony Bennett:
SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW (verse)

"When all the world is a hopeless jumble

and the rain drops tumble all around.
Heaven opens a magic lane.
When all the clouds darken up the skyway
there's a rainbow highway to be found.
Leading from your window pane to a place
behind the sun...just a step beyond the rain."

It's my favorite song...my favorite movie.

Here you are :-

When all the world is a hopeless jumble,
And the raindrops tumble all around,

Heaven opens a magic lane.

When all the clouds darken up the skyway,
There's a rainbow highway to be found,
Leading from your window pane,
To a place behind the sun,
Just a step behind the rain

Song is by Harold Arlen
Words by Yip Harburg.

It's in the Yip Harburg Songbook which I have; bought last year at Barnes
& Noble - so it should be currently in print.

Have a happy!
