...I must be going senile, but that's all I can remember, and even
that's far from certain. It's not recent, probably 70's or 80's.
OTOH, it isn't particularly obscure - must have been high in the top
40 at its peak.

I am indeed going senile, turns out what I was trying to remember
does *not* (AFAICR) contain the word "radio". But I finally remembered
a line or two, which may be enough for someone with less junk in their
attic than myself to identify what I'm looking for.
The lines I recall are something like:
[...]
when the music plays,
when the words are touched with sorrow
[...]

That should be easy for some of the sharp folks that hang out here. :-)

"When the music plays, when the words are touched with sorrow, when the

goes.....

And it is The Moody Blues' "Your Wildest Dreams." Great pop song, great
video.

Best,

bothering her all night)

I'm probably wrong, but is it Van Morrison's Caravan? Here's the chorus:

Turn it up, turn it up, little bit higher, radio
Turn it up, burn it up, so you know, radio
Turn it up, that's enough, so you know, its got soul.....

The song came out back in 1970 so it may not be recent enough.

Your Wildest Dreams

The other side of life
Moody Blues

Once upon a time
Once when you were mine
I remember skies
Reflected in your eyes
I wonder where you are
I wonder if you think about me
Once upon a time
In your wildest dreams

Once the world was new
Our bodies felt the morning dew
That greets the brand-new day
We couldn't tear ourselves away
I wonder if you care
I wonder if you still remember
Once upon a time
In your wildest dreams

And when the music plays
And when the words are touched with sorrow
When the music plays
I hear the sound I had to follow
Once upon a time

Once beneath the stars
The universe was ours
Love was all we knew
And all I knew was you
I wonder if you know
I wonder if you think about it
Once upon a time
In your wildest dreams

And when the music plays
And when the words are touched with sorrow
When the music plays

And when the music plays
When I hear the sound I had to follow
Once upon a time

Once upon a time
Once when you were mine
I remember skies
Mirrored in your eyes
I wonder where you are
I wonder if you think about me
Once upon a time
In your wildest dreams

ok. here is the whole sum up of what i saw...
Radio ga-ga is a Queen song.
Video Killed the Radio star is done by the Buggles
Transmission is a song by Joy Division "Radio live transmission..."
Mexican Radio was done by Wall of VooDoo (thats my guess at the one she
was asking for)

Radio Free Europe by REM

several other REM songs contain the word radio...
Rock 'n Roll Radio by the Ramones

There's a song called "On My Radio" or "Red Radio". I'm not sure who
sings it. the lyrics that I remember are:

"I bought my baby
A Red Radio
He played it all day
A-go-go A-go-go.........

It's just the same old show
On my radio
It's just the same old show
On my radio
On my radio
On my radi-oooooooo."

Extremely meaningful. Actually, if someone knows the band, please
post it.

"Heartache Tonight" by the Eagles

Any of these already been reported? Kind of an interesting thread...

"Turn up the radio" - Autograph

and of course the famous one hit wonder from Buggles:

I didn't see the original post, so I don't know if you want lyrics or
*titles* with the word radio. Here's some of both:

Titles:
"Mexican Radio"

Lyrics:

W.O.L.D. by Harry Chapin (story of an aging disc jockey)
"Angie Baby," by Danny O' <something!>, recorded by Helen Reddy.
(supernatural story of a "crazy" girl and her magic radio.)
