I like to change my answering machine message every month with a
different song. Some months are easy but some are very difficult. I
never did find a song for December or January and now I am looking for
March and April. I think I began this last June. Any help would be
appreciated.

How about "Pieces of April", Three Dog Night? You could play it the next
month too (has the line "..it's a morning in May..").

These are golden oldies 'cause I work in geriatric care but they fit the theme:

Shine on harvest moon ("January, February, June or July" is part of the lyrics)
April Showers (bring May flowers)
Moonlight and Roses (mentions June)
September Song
Will you love me in December as you do in May?
By the silvery moon (mentions June)

Did anybody mention Stevie Wonder's "I Just Called to Say I Love You" ? It
mentions most of the months.

I forgot to mention this the other day - there's a Swedish singer
named Cam who has a song on her album "purr", called "lying around"
which mentions all of the months. Here is her web site:
http://www.cabal.se/mnw/soap/cam/index.html
where you can download three(!) full length MP3's of her music (but
not "lying around". You can also go to the root http://www.cabal.se
to get information on a TON of Swedish bands.

lying around

January was a happy month, allthough I often missed you
February lost its days of snow, you still had things to do

Why couldn't I just trust my intuition when in March
I really knew. I said it was injust but when April past
we were actually through

So then I left your home and the warmth of May
to me was just cruel. You knew I was alone. I guess it made
you glad as you enjoyed June

but I'm still lying around in your life somewhere
reminding you of things we used to share
I'm still lying around in your life somewhere
still messing things up, trying not to care

Erasing you took time and during the whole of July I kept
killing you. I heard that you were fine, sometime in August.
I hoped that it wasn't true.

So then September just came along. I ran into you one day
in October and you had changed your mind what else
were you to do.

And in November you were going through the same things
I'd gone through. Then came december and I enjoyed the
game and that the weak one was you

'cause I'm still lying around...

If you are very good with tapes, Calendar Girl by Neil Sadaka should
give you a couple of lines for each month!

And for something a little more on the "alternative" side, try Black Lab's
"Gates of the Country"...mentions April, May, June, and July. Beautiful song if
I do say so myself.
