Here's one for you astute lyricists:

Does anyone remember all the lines to "On top of spaghetti"? It starts
something like this:

On top of spaghetti,
All covered with cheese.
I lost my poor meatball,
[something] cheese.

It rolled off the table,
and onto the floor.
And then my poor meatball,
It rolled out of the door.

It goes on from there for just about forever. I've not heard it in
years and my wife mentioned it today. She'd love to be reminded of
the lines.

It rolled into the garden,
and under a bush,
and then my poor meatball,
turned into mush.

That's about all I remember... Hope it helps!

Here's what I know:
On top of spaghetti
All covered in cheese
I lost my poor meatball
When somebody sneezed.

It rolled off of the table
And onto the floor
The last time I saw it

It rolled out of the door

It rolled into the garden
And under a bush
And the last time I saw it.
It was nothing but mush.

ON TOP OF SPAGHETTI; words and music by Tom Glazer:

: On top of spaghetti,

: All covered with cheese.
: I lost my poor meatball,

When somebody sneezed

: It rolled off the table,

: and onto the floor.
: And then my poor meatball,
: It rolled out of the door.

It rolled in the garden, and under a bush
And then my poor meatball, was nothing but mush
The mush was as tasty, as tasty could be
And early next summer, it grew into a tree

The tree was all covered, with beautiful moss
It grew lovely meatballs, and tomato sauce
so if you eat spaghetti, all covered with cheese
hold on to your meatballs, and don't ever sneeze!

(I even believe that this was a number one hit in the early 60s)

Rolled into the garden
and under a bush
So now my poor meatball
is nothing but mush.

Now I'm going to have that bloody tune running through my head all day
and night..... :)

Here's what I remember of it:
(sung to the tune of "On Top of Old Smokey")

On top of spaghetti,
All covered with cheese,

I lost my poor meatball,

When somebody sneezed.

It rolled off the table,

And onto the floor,
And then my poor meatball
Rolled out of the door.

[A verse here about the meatball rolling across the yard].

It rolled under a bush,

And then my poor meatball,

Was nothing but mush!

[The next two verses or so talk about a new tree/bush growing the next
spring, and it's covered with meatballs!]

Hope this helps.

Little Richard did a video of this song for the Disney Channel. I think
it was part of an album recorded a year or two ago in which he also sang
"Itsy Bitsy Spider", and some other celebrities sang other children's songs.

I'm almost embarassed to admit this, but here goes...

On top of spaghetti,
All covered with cheese.
I lost my poor meatball,

When somebody sneezed.

It rolled off the table,
and onto the floor.
And then my poor meatball,
It rolled out of the door.

It rolled in the garden,
and into a bush.

And then my poor meatball

Was nothing but mush.

So if you like spaghetti
all covered with cheese.
Hang onto your meatballs,
and don't ever sneeze.

I think I might be missing one verse, but I can't remember what it is.
Hope this helps!!

The mush was as tasty,
As tasty could be.
And early next summer,
It grew into a tree.

The tree was all covered,

With beautiful moss.
It grew lots of meatballs,
And tomato sauce.

So if you eat spaghetti,
All covered with cheese,
Hang onto your meatballs,
And don't ever sneeze.

Man, that takes me back.
