I think that you mean the same song. I also think that the blues song is
by J.J. Cale but the lyrics are the same.
I´ll attach it in case this is the one you´re looking for.

There must be lots of cocaine songs. George Thorogood doing a cover of
Johnny Cash's "Cocaine Blues" comes to mind as one of my favorites. One
line goes "I took a shot of cocain and away I ran". Is that the one you're
thinking of?

[E] Me and my baby [E7] goin' downtown
[A] Gonna find a little somethin' to bring us down
Co[E]caine, [B7]runnin' round my [E] brain
You take Beale Street, I'll take Main
Find that man that sells cocaine
Cocaine, runnin' round my brain
You take Sally, I'll take Sue
Aint no difference between the two
When cocaine's runnin' round my brain
Come here Mama, come here quick
This cheap cocaine's about to make me sick
Cocaine, runnin' round my brain
They say cocaine's for horses, aint for men
They say it's gonna kill me but they dont say when
Cocaine, runnin' round my brain
Don't know if this old one is the one you're looking for, but listen to Gove
Schrivner's version on his Coconut Gove album.
keep it in tune,
Ron
Ah, cocaine, running round my brain.
They say coke is for horses, not for men,
They say it will kill me, but they won't say when.
Ah, cocaine, running round my brain.

There is an old song "Cocaine" which Jackson Browne recorded-sorry
don't know the album-probably a Rev Gary Davis and possicly recorded
by Dave van Ronk as well.
Some of the words as follows:
walkin' down the street, fourth and main
lookin' for the man who sells cocaine
cocaine, runnin' all around my brain
you take sally, i'll take sue
ain't no difference between the two
cocaine, runnin' all around my brain
chos:
hey momma, come here quick
that old cocaine bound to make me sick cocaine
runnin' all around my brain
cocaines for horses, not for men
doctor say it'll kill me but he don't say when
cocaine runnin' all around my brain
sorry that's all i remember-
email me if your interested and i'll try to dig up more verses
