Lapti Nek - Sung in Jabba the Hut's Place
And the Celebration-Song (Celebration & End) sung by the Ewoks
Does anybody have the "words" to those songs. As I understand it they
were written by a friend of John Williams. Do the mean anything?
TIA
Leo

FANCY MAN
I feel my body pumpin'
My whole frame is jumpin'
My soul is synthesizin'
Now I'm workin' out and havin' fun!
Fancy Man, gotta move your body, gotta move your feet
Fancy Man, gotta move your feet as you walk the street
Fancy Man, can you feel the rhythm? can you feel the beat?
Wow!
Here come the lyrics (some of them) to the Ewok celebration--
"Yub Yub
Keecha yub yowb
Atomee tomee ch'kee taluka ee-yu-wa
Yowa
Keecha yoooowa
Atomee tomee ch'kee taluka ee-yu-wa
Ochee chaka lu
YOWA!
Ochee chaka lu
YOWA!
Alelu toona!
Alelu toona!
(Rapped)
Tatoo aduba
Aduba dugobo
Towaka funuhunu
Anaka Han Solo
U'abaley lu wee chaka a gobi
Too waka funuhunu
Obi Wan Kenobi
That's the best I can do for now,it came out when I was in high school.
There's more to the rap section, I do remember that ends on the line "dabu
dabu Darth Vader." The only place I know of to get a recording of the Ewok
celebration is on a vinyl album by Meeko, I'm pretty sure it's no longer
available.

I have heard from various sources that the languages used in the Star
Wars films were actually slightly (sometimes not so slightly) modified
existing languages. In fact, some phrases uttered by the Ewoks can
even be translated (so I've heard). I have no examples, and of course,
I could even be wrong.
I'm sure the lyrics do mean something. I just don't know what it
is....
