I recently posted something requesting two songs. I got one of the songs, but
I need the other one. The title is "Daddys Little Girl" and I think it is by
Kippie Brendon. It is played a lot at weddings when the father is dancing with
his daughter. I really need the lyrics for something I am making for my dad.
If you can help, please give the the lyrics and correct name of the artist. It
would be greatly appreciated. Preferably email responses but posting is cool.
Thanks iin advance! Love Niki

Never heard of any Kippi Brendon but it's likely you'te thinking of this
old standard which has been done by just about everyone.

And all of us old traditionalists here in this newsgroup
(yes, that includes me!) owe you young whippersnappers
an apology.

We've all been insisting that y'all were talking about
that old classic "Daddy's Little Girl" that we remember
from when we were kids.

Guys? It ain't necessarily so. Someone named Kippi Brannon
has done a *new* song that happens to have the same name as
the old classic we've been thinking of. I haven't heard it,
but from the lyrics, it looks ... um ... well, it could be
promising. I'll wait until I hear it sung before I decide.

Daddy's Little Girl
--------------------
By Angela Kaset, Kenya Slaughter Walker, Stan Webb

Daddy take me with you, I promise I'll be good
Daddy this is next time, and mama said I could
Sittin in the front seat, ridin' downtown
For an ice cream cone, I'd wrap him around
My little finger tighter than my baby curls
You can make a tear go a long, long way
When you're Daddy's Little Girl.

Walkin' down the aisle with my eyes on Mr. Right
My bouguet is shakin', Daddy held on tight
Takin' those last steps, Daddy and me
From the child to the woman I'd be
With a diamond on my finger and my mama's string of pearls
He gave me away 'cause I couldn't stay
Daddy's Little Girl

(Bridge)

Well, he tightened my bike chain from 7 to 13
Taught me to drive when I was a wild thing
Preached and prayed while I made some mistakes
That I wouldn't have made if I'd done it his way

Now he hugs me when he sees me - talks about the past
He tries to give me money, I try and give it back
He's a book of advice, more than I need
The look in his eyes is sayin' to me
Let me help you all I can while I'm still in this world
What'll you do when your daddy's gone,
And you're Daddy's Little Girl

Hey, what'll I do when my daddy's gone........

These lyrics came from Kippi's "official" web site:

Well thank you very much for realizing that and helping other people know who I
was looking for? I have a question though. Are the lyrics you gave me the
lyrics to the song by Kippi Brannon. Thank you very much in advance. Please
respond via email. Love Niki

Umm. Yes. They are.

That would be why I said "somebody named Kippi Brannon
has done a new song called 'Daddy's Little Girl'" and then
gave the lyrics and then said "These lyrics came from
Kippi Brannon's official web site."
