You can hear it right at the beginning of the song. You can also hear
it, for example, after the line that ends:
...we don't know, just where our bones will rest,
to dust I guess,
forgotten and absorbed into the earth below,
and before the line that begins:
double cross the vacant and the bored, they're
not sure just what we have in store...
Any ideas?
By the way, what's this song about?
Wondering
1979
****
shakedown 1979, cool kids never have the time
on a live wire right up off the street
you and i should meet
junebug skipping like a stone
with the headlights pointed at the dawn
we were sure we'd never see an end to it all
and i don't even care to shake these zipper blues
and we don't know
just where our bones will rest
to dust i guess
forgotten and absorbed into the earth below
double cross the vacant and the bored
they're not sure just what we have in the store
morphine city slippin dues down to see
that we don't even care as restless as we are
we feel the pull in the land of a thousand guilts
and poured cement, lamented and assured
to the lights and towns below
faster than the speed of sound
faster than we thought we'd go, beneath the sound of hope
justine never knew the rules,
hung down with the freaks and the ghouls
no apologies ever need be made, i know you better than you
fake it to see that we don't care to shake these zipper blues
and we don't know just where our bones will rest
to dust i guess forgotten and absorbed into the earth below
the street heats the urgency of sound
as you can see there's no one around
e-mail me if you want a more detailed description about the meaning!
happy pumpkins-ing!

Lyrics for 1979 are:
Shakedown, 1979,
cool kids never had the time.
On a live wire right up off the street
you and I should meet.
Junebug skipping like a stone
with the headlights pointed at the dawn.
We shall never see an end
to it all,
And I don't even care
to shake these zipper blues.
And we don't know
just where our bones will rest
to dust, I guess,
forgotten and absorbed
to the earth below.
Double cross the vacant and the bored,
they're not sure just what we have in store.
Morphine city sleeping dues
down to see
That we don't even care,
as restless as we are,
we feel the pull
in the land of a thousand guilts,
and poured cement,
lamented and assured,
to the lights
and towns below,
faster than
the speed of sound,
faster than
we thought we'd go,
beneath the sound of hope.
Justine never knew the rules,
hang down with the freaks and ghouls.
No apologies ever need be made,
I know yu better than you fake it
to see
That we don't even care
to shake these zipper blues,
and we don't know
just where our bones will rest
to dust, I guess,
forgotten and absorbed
to the earth below.
Street heats the urgency of now,
as you see there's no one around.
By the way, I'd also love to know what this song's about! If anyone
can explain it to me, please email me, I'd be very grateful!

Well check the video, It´s great, I think it about someone remanicing
15 years back when they were young and "having to much fun"
I´ve found the video on some Smashing P site and it´s about 10Mb
and it´s worth DL

To answer your question about lyrics for Smashing Pumpkins, yes, the lyrics
are included in the double cd-set. (Awesome too! DEF, a keeper!)
Now I know it'll be well worth shelling out the bucks for.
