Request help identifying the following:

1. An apparently obscure song that I remember from the summer of 1967 had
the following lyrics:

"Oh, my name is Jack
and I live in the back
of the "Greta Garbo Home
for wayward boys and girls"

Does anyone know who performed this song and its title?

2. A less obscure song from sometime in the '60s goes, "...it's a very
strange world we live in, Master Jack". Any info on this one?

Thank You!

This song charted by a group called Four Jacks and a Jill.........if I
remember correctly, I believe this group was from somewhere in Africa.

The second song is "Master Jack" by South African group Four Jacks And A
Jill.

Master Jack

Words and Music by Spiro D. Markantonatos
Artists: Four Jacks and A Jill
Peak Billboard position # 18 in 1968

It's a strange, strange world we live in, Master Jack
You taught me all I know and I'll never look back
It's a very strange world and I thank you, Master Jack

You took a colored ribbon from out of the sky
And taught me how to use it as the years went by
To tie up all your problems and make them look neat
And then to sell them to the people in the street

It's a strange, strange world we live in, Master Jack
You taught me all I know and I'll never look back
It's a very strange world and I thank you, Master Jack

I saw right through the way you started teachin' me now
So some day soon you could get to use me somehow
I thank you very much and though you've been very kind
But I'd better move along before you change my mind

It's a strange, strange world we live in, Master Jack
You know how I feel as if I'll never come back
It's a very strange world and I thank you, Master Jack

You taught me all the things the way you'd like them to be
But I'd like to see if other people agree
It's all very int'resting the way you disguise
But I'd like to see the world through my own eyes

It's a strange, strange world we live in, Master Jack
No hard feelin's if I never come back
You're a very strange man and I thank you, Master Jack

You're a very strange man and I thank you, Master Jack
You're a very strange man and I thank you, Master Jack

I was in a band in the late 60s that did a song called "Uncle Jack" by Spirit.
Anybody remember that one?

I remember the song. I still have the 45. Some more of the lyrics:

"There goes Fred with his hands on his head, cause he thinks he heard the
bomb.
And, gee, there goes Superman, who really puts it on.
It's lots of fun and I love to run up and down the stairs.
I make as much noise as I want,

And no one ever cares."

(Credits - I guess - to Manfred Mann.)

Hello,

A while back I posted a question about the song I love Chopin. I got many
answers that it was from a guy named Gazebo. Thanks for the information.
If anyone can give me the name of a cd that that song might be on, I would
appreciate it again.

Isn't it "I like Chopin"?

The song is on the eponymous album that still can be bought in good
record stores. There is also a "Best-Of" out that has a version of the
song, but I believe the songs have been reworked 90s-style and that
means it might have lost that wonderful cheesy 80s synths-only touch
that made the original such a big hit in Europe.
