We need to know the name of the song and the artist.
We can remember the tune really well and a few lines,
but nothing really significant. Unfortunately we can't post
the tune, but the lines we remember are:

Hear the voice, try and understand it...
...down the barrel of a gun...

Sung in the high registers, male singer, with lots of woh, woh,
wohs. Does that help?

We think it's an Australian group but that may be wrong.

Sorry it's not much, but we really need help here!!!

Thanks
Tony and Sharon

I think this is called "You're The Voice," and I believe the singer is
John Farnham or John Parnham . . . from what I remember the lyrics
start:

You're the voice try and understand it
Make a noise and make it clear
oh, oh, oh, oh oh oh
oh, oh, oh oh oh oh oh
We're not gonna sit in silence
We're not gonna live with fear
oh, oh, oh, oh oh oh

I can't for the life of me remember how the "Barrel of a gun line fits
in, exactly, but it's something about
"looking at each other down the barrel of a gun . . ."

That's if I have the song right. My recollections of the mid-80s are a
little fuzzy . . . early senility or something.

Good luck finding the rest of the words . . .

The only one I can think of offhand would
be Depeche Mode's "Barrel of a Gun" from their 1998
album Ultra.

Sounds more like a Bon Jovi song to me - one fromt he Blaze Of Glory
album. But I could be wrong. He sings something like: "down the
barrel, of a loaded good."

It's "You're The Voice" by John Farnham, who used to be the lead singer of
The Little River Band.

Brilliant song!
