I would appreciate it if someone in the know can look at these words to
Them Changes by Buddy Miles that I got by listening to a CD. The only
version I could find was on the Santana/Buddy Miles CD. Would like to
know how accurate they are compared to the original. Thanks for your
help.

THEM CHANGES

<INTRO RIFF>

OH, MY MIND IS GOIN THROUGH THEM CHANGES
I FEEL JUST LIKE A MAKEUP CLOWN

EVERY TIME YOU SEE ME GOIN’ SOMEWHERE
I THINK I COULD COMMIT A CRIME YEA

SHE HAD ME RUNNIN, SHE HAD ME CRYIN’
SHE HAD ME RUNNIN, SHE HAD ME CRYIN’
SHE HAD ME RUNNIN, SHE HAD ME CRYIN’
SHE HAD ME RUNNIN, SHE HAD ME CRYIN’

It's not on "Electric Ladyland" - it's on "Band of Gypsys", one of my
favourite Hendrix albums. It has a sound quality that's different from
all the others. The record jacket and label show the title as "Changes".
However, Jimi introduces the song with "Buddy wants me to do this thing
he wrote called Them Changes". And I believe it's called "Them Changes"
on Buddy's albums.

Since there were two requests for this song in eight days and I haven't
seen the lyrics anywhere, I decided to transcribe them from the record.
I didn't bother to count all the "Yeah (yeah!)"s at the end and I'm not
sure about the last two words in line 8. I put "And that's the reason
why she had to run" but it could be something other than "to run". I
couldn't quite make it out. In case it isn't obvious, I wrote
"'salright" as a contraction for "it's alright" because that's the way
Buddy pronounces it most of the time.

THEM CHANGES
- written by Buddy Miles
- as recorded live at Fillmore East in New York
New Years Eve '69/'70 by "Band of Gypsys"
featuring Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Miles and Billy Cox.

Well, my mind is goin' through them changes
I feel just like committin' a crime
Every time you see me goin' somewhere
I feel like I'm goin' outta my mind, yeah
Oh, my baby, she left me the other day
And we were havin' so much fun, yeah, yeah
Oh, my baby, she stepped out on me
And that's the reason why she had to run
'salright, yeah, yeah, 'salright
Lord, I say, it's alright, ooo-hoo-ooo

Well, my mind is goin' through them changes
I think I'm goin' outta my mind
Every time you see me goin' somewhere
I think I could commit a crime, now
She had me runnin', she had me cryin'
She had me runnin', had me, had me, had me cryin'
She had me runnin', she had me cryin'
She had me runnin', yeah!
'salright, yeah, 'salright

------ Guitar ------

Can you clap a little louder?
It's alright, it's alright
Everything gonna be alright, yeah
'salright, 'salright, 'salright, 'salright, 'salright
Yeah, yeah, everybody, yeah
Yeah (yeah!), yeah (yeah!), yeah (yeah!), ...
