I am trying to find a) the words to this song b)who sings it
c)what album is it off of.
Here are the section of lyrics I can remember
Count all the bees in the hive.
Chase all the clouds from the sky.
Back to the days of Christopher Robin.
I think Kenny Loggins sings it, but I am not sure. Thanks

OK:
1) -- For the lyrics -- two versions of 'em -- see the posting
about Pooh, under a slightly different header, further on.
2) _I_ know this song because we had it on one of the albums at
home, when I was ten, by a very good two-man children's music band
called Rosenschontz. I'm eighteen now; this was fairly recent, you see.
:) (Btw, as I mention further on -- if you've got kids, look this band
up! I don't know if they're still extant, but I loved those records to
death. Very funny, intelligent, comforting, imaginative, non-sappy,
frequently beautiful music, made with kids in mind. And I was a hard
kid to please; but I've turned out OK... =)
Anyway, I don't know who was covering whom, there. I had never
heard of either Kenny Loggins (he's the guy who did Footloose, right?)
or Don MacLean (American Pie?...) at the time. It is possible that
Rosenschontz wrote it, I suppose; they did do a lot of original songs
(though they also covered -- their version of 'The Teddy Bears' Picnic'
is marvelous. Who wrote _that_ one, btw?)
Hope I've been of help.... :)
cheers,

The Devil, having nothing else to do,
Went off to tempt My Lady Poltagrue.
My Lady, tempted by a private whim,
To his extreme annoyance, tempted him.

It is called 'House at Pooh Corner' and it was written by Loggins and
Messina. I have the sheet music at home which lists the writers as above. I
have it on their 'Greatest hits' type compilation.
Loggins and Messina wrote some really great songs including 'Watching the
River Run' (hey there's another River song) and others.
Hope this helps

Christopher Robin and I walked alone
Under branches lit up by the moon,
Posing our questions to Owl and Eeyore
As our days disappeared all too soon.
But I've wandered much further today than I should,
And I can't seem to find my way back to the wood.
(Chorus)
So help me if you can, I've got to get
Back to the House at Pooh Corner by one,
You'd be surprised, there's so much to be done,
Count all the bees in the hive,
Chase all the clouds from the sky.
Back to the days of Christopher Robin and Pooh...
Winnie the Pooh doesn't know what to do,
Got a honey jar stuck on his nose.
He came to me asking help and advice,
And from there where he goes, no one knows.
So I sent him to ask of the Owl, if he's there,
How to loosen a jar from the nose of a bear.
(Chorus)

Go find the liner notes, these may need to be tweaked a little since
they're from memory.
