The song goes something like this:

"It feels like Spring time
In this February morning
In the [ ? ] birds were singing your praise
I feel so high now
But I'm not above my sorrow
Every hour [ ??????? ]
[.......]
As I lay me
Down to the sea
Yeah I pray
that you will hold me dear
[ ?????? ]
I whisper your name into the sky
And I will wake up happy
[......] "

Does anyone know the name of this song, who sings it, or the full lyrics?
Thanks in advance...

Dear Pedro,

I believe that the person who sang this song is Sophie Hawkins. Unless I
am incorrect, she also produced a song called "I Wish I Were Your Lover"
or something to that effect. I believe she is a percussionist who decided
to extend her musical talents to singing. Anyway, I hope this helps you in
some way.

The song is called "As I Lay Me Down." It is by Sophie B. Hawkins and here
are the lyrics:

It felt like springtime on this Febuary morning
In the courtyard birds were singing your praise
I'm still recalling things you said to make me feel alright
I carried them with me today now

CHORUS:
As I lay me down to sleep
This I pray
That you will hold me dear
Though I'm far away
I'll whisper your name into the sky

And I will wake up happy

I wonder why I feel so high
Though I am not above the sorrow
Heavy-hearted till you call my name
And it sounds like church bells
Or the whistle of a train
On a summer evening
I'll run to meet you barefoot
Barely breathing

CHORUS

It's not to near for me
Like a flower I need the rain
Though it's not clear to me
Every season has it's change
And I will see you
When the sun comes out again

CHORUS

Hope I've helped!
beth

This song is called "As I Lay Me Down" by Sophie B. Hawkins off her
album "Whaler".

The first verse starts:

It feels like Spring time

In this February morning
In the courtyard birds were singing your praise.

I feel so high now

but I'm not above my sorrow

And the first line of the chorus is:
As I lay me
Down to sleep.

That is all I can remember right now, I managed to feel in a couple of
your blanks.
I have it on tape somewhere, if I get a chance I'll try to write down
the entire lyrics.

As I Lay Me Down

It felt like spring time on this February morning

In the courtyard birds were singing your praise
I'm still recalling things you said to make me feel alright
I carried them with me today

Now

As I lay me down to sleep
This I pray
That you will hold me dear
Though I'm far away

I'll whisper your name into the sky

And I will wake up happy

I wonder why I feel so high

Though I am not above the sorrow

Heavy hearted
Till you call my name

And it sounds like church bells
Or the whistle of a train
On a summer evening
I'll run to meet you

Barefoot barely breathing

As I lay me down to sleep
This I pray
That you will hold me dear
Though I'm far away

I'll whisper your name into the sky

And I will wake up happy

As I lay me down to sleep

This I pray
That you will hold me dear
Though I'm far away

I'll whisper your name into the sky

And I will wake up happy

It's not near for me

Like a flower I need the rain

Though it's not clear for me
Every season has its change

And I will see you
When the sun comes out again

As I lay me down to sleep

This I pray
That you will hold me dear
Though I'm far away

I'll whisper your name into the sky
And I will wake up happy.

As I lay me down to sleep
This I pray
That you will hold me dear
Though I'm far away

I'll whisper your name into the sky
And I will wake up happy.

I wonder why

When the sun comes out again
When the sun comes out again
When the sun comes out again
When the sun comes out again
When the sun comes out again
When the sun comes out again

And I will wake up happy

So I pray
