If by some luck you get these would you please post them or send them to
me. I grew up in the late 40's and my daddy loved this song, played it
'til he had to buy a second copy! Then I never listened to what it
said, just loved the tune.
I asked a guy who had a cajun band a while back for the lyrics, but
haven't heard from him.
Thanks in advance,
Jan Hart

Wow! I found something that Jan Hart couldn't!
I got these lyrics from the Cajun French Music Association Discussion Forum
http://www.cajunfrenchmusic.org/forum/index.htm
Found using Northern Light, http://www.northernlight.com/
According to the poster Pete Bergeron, this is the Harry Choates version
which was called "Jole Blon". You should be able to find versions by
Zachary Richard and Amedee Breaux. From what I understand Richard's version
is the same as Choates'.
JOLIE BLONDE
HE' HA HA
JOLIE BLONDE MAIS JOLIE FILLE
CHERE PETITE, JOLIE COEUR
TU MA LAISSER POUR T'EN ALLER
AVEC UN AUTRE MAIS CHERE PETITE
DANS LE PAYE DE LA LOUISIANE
MAIS MALHEUREUSE
OH MAIS JOLIE COEUR
ÇA T'A FAIT
A TON PAUVRE PAPA
TU MA LAISSER MAIS CHERE PETITE
MOI TOUT SEUL MAIS MALHEUREUSE
QUEL ESPOIR ET QUEL AVENIR
MAIS MOI J'PEU AVOIR
HE' HE' HE'
OH HA HA
MAIS CHERE CAJINE MAIS MALHEUREUSE
ÇA TA FAIT TU VA AVOIR
DU REGRET, PETITE
You are a real peach!
