Song is from 70"s, probably early 70's.
A one hit wonder.

"Louie, Louie Louie Lou-ee,Louie,Louie,Louie,Lou-i. Took her home to meet
his mama and papa. Louie fell in love overnight."

Not the Kingsmen's "Louie Louie".

Brother Louie
Stories

She was black as the night;
Louie was whiter than white,
Danger, danger when you taste brown sugar,

Louie fell in love overnight.

Nothing bad, it was good,
Louie had the best girl he could.
When she took him home
To meet her mama and papa;
Louie knew just where he stood.
Louie Louie Louie, Louie Louie Louie Lou I
Louie Louie Louie, Louie Louie you're gonna cry.
There he stood in the night
Knowing what's wrong from what's right.
He took her home to meet his mama and papa,
Man, he had a terrible fright.
Louie nearly caused a scene
Wishin' it was a dream.
Ain't no diff'rence between black and white,
Brothers, you know what I mean.
Louie Louie Louie ..........

It could be Hot Chocolate's "Brother Louie" from 1973 (not quite a one hit
wonder).

Yes, it is Hot Chocolate, and you can hear 30 seconds of the song at
www.bn.com just search for this album: "Every 1's a Winner: The Very Best of
Hot Chocolate"

It is NOT Hot Chocolate! It's title is "Brother Louie" by a band called Stories
on an album named "About Us".

The song you talk about may be a cover, but the lyrics fit the Hot Chocolate
tune and the credits on the album indicate that it is a Hot Chocolate song.
What year was the Stories version released?

Stories took "Brother Louie" to number one in the U.S. in
1973. The song had been written a year or two before that
by Errol Brown and Tony Wilson of Hot Chocolate and had been
a hit for them in the U.K.

And the entire Stories version of the song can be heard at
